The HOME team should control the special effects.
Home team official should cue "BALL" noises etc. for the "Voice of affirmation".
... create a home advantage.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

I don't know what's worse - how stupid and pathetic the AFL and the media think the average footy fan is, or
how stupid and pathetic the average footy fan actually is?
Seriously, how do people tolerate this stuff.

Re: now it’s Fake Crowd noise
I know right. I just can't take it seriously. I've said it before, footy without crowds is going going to be crap. Hey but it's the fabric of society right. I actually think the captain and coach that holds up the Mickey Mouse cup will look angrier than when GT and Hayes did when they lifted the pre season cup.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Fri 29 May 2020 12:12am I don't know what's worse - how stupid and pathetic the AFL and the media think the average footy fan is, or

The sound engineer should be from the home team. There can be some noise for opposition team goal but not as much.
Must say I disliked the quiet games with no sound effects - done well it’s a great addition
The Bundersleague got it right.

Re: now it’s Fake Crowd noise
can we have canned laughter interspersed at appropriate times? and will the noise include boganesque taunts and insults or is it all pc vanilla bland. can they occassionally cut to a photoshopped good looking busty blonde? hell why stop at fake noise?

Cutting to a zoom type screen of cheer squad/supporters in their homes, when significant moments/goals occur would help give the broadcasts some atmosphere.

The one good thing about NOT going to the live games is being able to avoid the interminable racket between quarters, interviewing the crowd and yelling inanities over loud music or other din. How brilliant that they've thought up an alternative torture.

Not to forget Benny Hill theme when we are moving the ball around the wing and blindly bombing into the forward 50.
And leave it running for the miss from 20 out.

I never want to see the reaction of the crowd when they’re at the game. I certainly don’t want to see it when they’re not at the game.St Plugger wrote: ↑Fri 29 May 2020 10:39am Cutting to a zoom type screen of cheer squad/supporters in their homes, when significant moments/goals occur would help give the broadcasts some atmosphere.

The NRL’s efforts to bring fans closer to live action have reached new levels with the announcement of a scheme that would allow fans to purchase a $22 cardboard cutout of themselves that would then be placed in a seat at their team’s home stadium.
