Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

Re: Saints who were great or could have been great in other sports
Having once lived in the US I've spent a lot of mental time in my life explaining the greatness of footy to benighted Americans. And explaining the brilliance of various Saints legends in American football terms.
Plugger could have taken the place of three players all at once, as a steamrolling running back (a la John Riggins), an undefendable-against tight end, and a punter you really wouldn't want to get in the way of.
The G-Train would have been a brilliant wide receiver or tight end too.
Nicky Winmar would have been an amazing wide receiver, but I always thought he would have been the greatest cornerback of all time (like Daryl Green)
Of course the glorious talents of each one of them would have been completely wasted, trapped in one of the hyper-specialised roles of an American football team.
Nick dal Santo may have made a brilliant quarterback.
Alex Jesaulenko would surely have been one of the world's great soccer players.

Well, Joffa, I thought this was a terrific topic for conversation -- but looks like I've killed it.
Sorry about that,
Thanks for the OP
