Funny isn't it how we really struggle to put a score on the board anywhere else but our home ground.
That is one thing which hasn't changed for a long time. I don't know how this can be rectified, I really don't.
Well with no Membrey, Lonie, Butler, Kent, Billings....or King this week, forward line has been decimated.
Whereas backline has Geary, Robbo, Wester, Brown, Savage..
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....

And their backline is an experienced premiership backline.
But - we need to start taking our chances. Some of our misses have been 15 metres out.

What was the score in the end?
9.6 to 3.10 Hawks 3/4 time
Hawks 9?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Paton impressed with his close checking and rebound, also found his own footy and used it well in general.
Robbo is class, as too brown. Had plenty of work this evening.
Ross looks better when he handballs rather than kicks.
Joyce gets to the contest well, finds position just doesn't win many battles, only breaks even.
Liked Byrnes, looks a mid in the making.
Hind had good energy, tackled hard and did a couple of nice things.
Webster didn't do anything wrong, solid and didn't give his opponent any room. I hope he works hard and somehow earns a senior spot this season.
Jono Marsh, very dynamic with the ball, would be a hard match up and hard to tackle, great energy.
Left at halftime, took my 3yr old, worth the drive down, really nice ground.
Go Saints.

Did Bytel play?
Yes, and i liked what i saw.
Was looking for him and didn't see him in the first 10mins of the 1st. I found him working around the centre square hunting the ball, not sure who he was playing on just seemed to be following the ball, did some nice tackles and got on the end of some handballs and made good decisions.
Only saw the first half and he looked ok

Interesting to see Joyce as a forward. It's always worth the experiment but I think he looks far more at home on the backline, Agree with much of St Loxton. Doubt we'll see any new players (from this match) early in the season. Jonathon Marsh is a unit, and a potential X Factor.

thanks. there would have been nerves a plenty so he will be glad that the first game is over, And sounds like there were no injuries which is great
