Jack Bytel
The confidence in Jack Bytel is building internally to the extent he is pushing for Round 1. That is straight from the mouth of Ratten at this weeks “ Saints in Law” function.
You keep hearing it from various people this boy is a beauty- hunts the ball, tough, smart and skilled. We need a win in midfield reports are we have found a beauty and look out Dunstan in particular but all midfielders trying to keep their place.
Whilst all the talk is on Max King understandably the talk on him just doesn’t stop.
King and Bytel are exciting Saints fans no end bring on 2020.

Re: Jack Bytel
And this is where is so annoying that there are only 2 inter club practice matches not the 3 we used to have before the (now defunct) AFLX rubbish came along.
Jimmy Bytel needs to prove himself in these matches first and foremost to get a gig in round 1 I’d assume.

Re: Jack Bytel
Jimmy Bartel, I'm guessing.
Bartel/Bytel are close ... so "Jimmy" Bytel, why not? - it's a good nickname.

Re: Jack Bytel
I have brought this up in the other Jack Bytel blog and believe me the kid is a gun. My son does the strength and conditioning at Calder Cannons and aside from his back injury which was his own fault by trying to play the kid was second to Sam Walsh in possessions for the season in his under age year. Great attitude and real clubman. If he get s over his back issue he is a top ten draft pick. Great leadership skills.

Only if we call Jimmy Webster “Jack” to maintain our Jack ratio.samoht wrote:Jimmy Bartel, I'm guessing.

Re: Jack Bytel
Why
Dunstan is a GOP at best. He is just in the 22 as it stands, if Bytel is better, the team would be better.
Dunstan is slow, doesn’t have a big tank and is a poor kick. He’s never finished top ten in the b&f and isn’t big enough to be just an inside Bull like Joey Kennedy.

I think Nick_BlueNRG was requesting that he himself be banned for 24 hours for his post. We could grant his wish.

Re: Jack Bytel
Looking forward to watching "Jimmy" Bytel receive his Brownlow at the end of the season.
Seriously the most over hyped player on Saintsational history since Brandon White.
Coming off a back injury and if I'm correct the best part of 2 seasons out of the game?
If he could play 8 games for the season and launch into becoming a regular in 2021-22 that would be a great outcome IMO.

Re: Jack Bytel
You can see how this ends already, calls for BR to be sacked will grow loudly towards the end of 2021 after Bytel is constantly overlooked for selection and is stranded on 3 games because he can't dislodge BRs favourites from the team. If I was Bytel I'd be getting a goat just for insurance.

Re: Jack Bytel
Dunstan has managed 103 games already at age 24 and is out of contract it the end of 2021 but he is very limited (slow, poor kick).
There is a real opportunity for Bytel to come in to the senior side (taller, quicker and better kick) on a permanent basis.

Re: Jack Bytel
I don’t think forumites are being particularly over the top in their expectations of Bytel.
He was a highly touted junior, he appears to be over his injury concerns, the club’s talking him up and people want to see him play and do well.
The mentality of the internet in general seems to be that every action requires an opposite reaction of equal force. A bit of excitement is therefore met with a ‘lower those expectations’

A bit harsh to be predicting a coach’s downfall before the ball is even bounced...Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Thu 26 Dec 2019 7:34pm You can see how this ends already, calls for BR to be sacked will grow loudly towards the end of 2021 after Bytel is constantly overlooked for selection and is stranded on 3 games because he can't dislodge BRs favourites from the team. I love saintspremiers work and his/her optimism (particularly the nic) but comparing Bytel to Bartel is a little bit premature.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Wed 25 Dec 2019 9:14am

Re: Jack Bytel
Upon reflection it would seem I've gotten this wrong, Ratts should be the one getting pix that romantically compromises Bytel with a goat.skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 26 Dec 2019 10:55pmA bit harsh to be predicting a coach’s downfall before the ball is even bounced...Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Thu 26 Dec 2019 7:34pm You can see how this ends already, calls for BR to be sacked will grow loudly towards the end of 2021 after Bytel is constantly overlooked for selection and is stranded on 3 games because he can't dislodge BRs favourites from the team. Re: Jack Bytel
Can we predict the timing and circumstances of his debut, I'm predicting it will be much later in the season if it happens at all in 2020 as it would be amateur hour to select him before round 6 if all of our first-choice midfielders are fit and firing. So it wont happen in that scenario.
The kid hasn't kicked a ball in anger for 2 years at any level and is coming off a very serious injury and he will need considerable match conditioning before he can survive 4 quarters with the big boys.

Re: Jack Bytel
It’s disappointing that after a prolonged absence, where the forum has concentrated largely on football, your instinct on coming back is rehash the same old coaching BS to start trouble.Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Fri 27 Dec 2019 8:41amUpon reflection it would seem I've gotten this wrong, Ratts should be the one getting pix that romantically compromises Bytel with a goat.skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 26 Dec 2019 10:55pmA bit harsh to be predicting a coach’s downfall before the ball is even bounced...Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Thu 26 Dec 2019 7:34pm You can see how this ends already, calls for BR to be sacked will grow loudly towards the end of 2021 after Bytel is constantly overlooked for selection and is stranded on 3 games because he can't dislodge BRs favourites from the team.
