Re: Spida Everitt Coming up tomorrow
I well recall John Beverage saying after a game in Adelaide where Rehn was very impressive that we had a better one
Unfortunately 1997 and injury
Then to Lazar as well so a strength became a weakness and Rehn took us apart

Everitt doing his shoulder cost us the 1997 Premiership.

Some may say Vidovic's knee cost us a flag. Either way, if we had both Everitt and Vidovic, Adelaide were no chance whatsoever. If we had one of them, we would have got it.Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Sat 21 Dec 2019 3:39pmEveritt doing his shoulder cost us the 1997 Premiership.

Re: Spida Everitt Coming up tomorrow
Weren’t Adelaide without Modra (Coleman Medal) and Mark Riccutio (All Australian)?!
We were without Spider which was huge, but really Lazar only played 7 games in 97 and was pretty average.
He averaged 3 kicks 4 handball and 7 hit outs and kicked 1 goal. Not much impact with those numbers!
Lazar Vidovic played 80 games in 9 seasons and this notion that he was a gun ruckman is a fallacy imo.

Re: Spida Everitt Coming up tomorrow
They won because they were without Modra. If Modra hadn't done his knee we would have played the Bulldogs. Remember Jarman moved to full forward because Modra did his knee. It won them the Prelim. when they were gone and then we know what Jarman did in the GF. Jarman would never have gone to full forward if Modra were fit.B.M wrote: ↑Mon 23 Dec 2019 7:20pm Weren’t Adelaide without Modra (Coleman Medal) and Mark Riccutio (All Australian)?!

Modra/Riccioutto or no Modra/Riccioutto, they completely dominated the ruck in the absence of Everitt & Vidovic and used that to nullify Harvey & Burke. That set up their win.

He was competitive enough though and it allowed Spider to play forward.B.M wrote: ↑Mon 23 Dec 2019 7:20pm Weren’t Adelaide without Modra (Coleman Medal) and Mark Riccutio (All Australian)?!

Re: Spida Everitt Coming up tomorrow
Wouldn’t aggression be the norm in a grand final?
I think Harves still had 36 possessions?
Comparing the loss of Vidovic to that of Modra and/or Riccutio is laughable.
