Re: Lade on presason focus
Good to see the focus so early on skills & goal kicking. We should see a big improvement next season.
I wonder how Geary and some other poor performers go - can they improve, or are set ways too hard to change?
Or will it be, the more you practice, the better you get !

Agreed. I've been waiting for ages to have someone make the absolute ball-butchering accountable for the rot they regularly trot out. I for one cannot wait to watch my team hit a target (human and goal) more often than not.Junction Oval wrote: ↑Mon 02 Dec 2019 12:03pm Good to see the focus so early on skills & goal kicking. As that old saying goes. " practice makes perfect."Junction Oval wrote: ↑Mon 02 Dec 2019 12:03pm Good to see the focus so early on skills & goal kicking. We should see a big improvement next season.

It doesn't matter how much practice you do if you don't practice correctly, it's why i like the phrase," Perfect practice makes perfect".saynta wrote: ↑Mon 02 Dec 2019 12:45pmAs that old saying goes. How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Lade on preseason focus
I'd like to see not only accuracy, but low passes rather than lofted balls that get cut off or punched easily. For years the best performed opposition player against us has been the intercept marker.
With some of the worst helicopter kicks off our list, perhaps that will change. I'll believe in miracles when I see Geary hit a target and Billings comfortable in front of goal.

Re: Lade on preseason focus
According to AFLTables, we win 66% of our games where Geary kicks a goal (14/21) and 63% of our games where he kicks a behind (12/19). He is clearly the missing piece we've been searching for.
