Player Sponsorship 2020 (Ryan Byrnes)

Hopefully we'll have a few eyes on here in the next couple of days so it's a good time to launch the sponsorship for next year.

For those that are not familiar with the concept, we pay the club to be 'sponsors' of a certain player which gives us two invitations to a number of events:

+ Two invitations to the Player Sponsors pre-Season event - usually a barbecue
+ Two invitations to the Player Sponsors mid-season event - Trivia, pizza making, treasure hunt or similar
+ Two invitations to an exclusive VFL game day experience
+ Two invitations to a Saints Premier Lounge Function (game TBC)
+ Two invitations to the 2020 Trevor Barker Award
+ Your name or company recognised on saints.com.au
+ A player sponsor recognition item

Players are in attendance at all events. I will conduct a raffle before each event to determine the winner.

First issue is we no longer have Brandon White. The following players are in our price range and at last report were unsponsored.

Issue number 2 is the price has gone up to $2,350 which is not even a multiple of $20. So I'm proposing we go with 100 x $23.50 shares. Too hard to calculate you say? I've got your back.

The price has been creeping up over the last few years so if you feel inclined, it would be great if you could stick with the same amount of shares as last time.

The third issue is some people come on here at this time of year and then disappear for months on end, so I'll ask for the money upfront, or a scheduled payment. The bank account is the same for those who have contributed over the last few years and I'll PM the details to anyone else who is interested.

$2600 is the next level. I don’t think it matters who we sponsor, but maybe I’ve been too close to it for the last few years.

I’d say go for $2350 and if it looks like we will be oversubscribed, we can consider a different player.

No need to stop at 7. I'm always happy to be over subscribed.

If we went well over we could sponsor a more established player or I can raffle off Saints Locker vouchers for any excess money.

And there's always the chance that people who pledge in November, have a change of circumstance before January.

The Western Saints Inc is an official supporter group for WA members.
They are sponsoring Dean Kent next year
and are trying to raise some funds to sponsor Jonno Marsh.
I'm not trying to help raise funds for him, this is just an FYI so folks know that other groups are assisting.

We are currently at 93% pledged and 54% paid so I'm confident we will be going ahead.

I had an update today on players who don't have a sponsor at this stage and I'd like to finalise the choice this week.

I'll just go with who gets the most votes, if there's a tie I'll do a countdown based on how many shares each voter has committed to, if all else fails I'll cast the deciding vote.
