It’s entirely plausible that it actually happened the way he said.
If for example, it was Geary that this happened to you’d take it at face value. The reality is Hannebery has a reputation and that’s what’s lead to the doubt/suspicion.

For anyone that’s really on the give him the benefit of the doubt bandwagon, I have one question.

If it came out tomorrow that he was drunk... would you really be shocked or surprised?
Hard pressed to find any objective person saying yes.

All of that being said... it’s really not that big a deal and this thread has become overblown. I suspect he was drunk but as long as he hits the season running am not terribly bothered.

As said above... just don’t want to hear about Hannebery again until the season starts

Another thing to add is that obviously I hope I'm totally wrong in my suspicion and that it was just a freak accident and he'll have a stellar season. I obviously WANT the guy to succeed.

Look for the record I couldn't give a stuff if he loves a beer or 10 and some chemical or herbal enhancement, there aren't too many clubs around Australia, (at all levels), where the boys are carving it up on the weekends and holidays. These are good ole Australian lads, decent lads, going about their lives, why the need to demonise them and treat them like they are some low life's.
