Re: Bennell
I reckon Coffield was really starting to find his feet and look good before popping his shoulder.
Will be in our best 22
As for Bennell, if we can get him let’s do it he’ll come reasonably cheap.

Re: Bennell
Let’s report things correctly Curly
I have NEVER stated we should have taken DeGoey instead of Paddy.
Wish I did, because it would have been a great call at the time. As hindsight suggest DeGoey should have actually gone at #1 but NO ONE made that call at the time of drafting, least of all me.
Petracca, McCartin and Brayshaw were the clear top 3 at the time
Of course, I went for the obvious, Petracca

Coff will be a gun. I honestly believe we absolutely nailed Clark and Coff selections. They'll be our Franklin Roughy version of changing our clubs fortunes around.

Oh man I hope you are right, it's what we need right now to go to that next level and be a sustainable finals side, LUCK. We need luck with injuries and we need luck with some of our recruitment selections where there are players who can just be selection bolters.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2019 10:22amCoff will be a gun. Any news on where Bennell is going?
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

lolSecret Kiel wrote: ↑Fri 01 Nov 2019 7:09pmThe list is in pretty good shape is it not? Still work to be done and possibly one A grade midfielder short to be a serious top 4 contender as well as some player with potential who are yet to prove themselves like Max King but hypothetically if we have good year next year the bulk of our best 22 will have been recruited and developed by people not at the club anymore. You make it sound like we are in dire straights.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 01 Nov 2019 4:51pm
It irritated me when there was a pattern of behaviour where our club wasted picks year after year on injured or older recycled players.
It didn't matter that they were not high draft picks. We always need to have a focus on youth and finding talent late in the draft. It's simply a skill that must be part of the football department
Otherwise why have a recruiting team? Might as well just save money and just go with known talent and all the top schoolboy talent
It also means that your football club places a high emphasis on development and nurturing and improving your players skills
The main reason we haven't played finals since 2011 is because we were poor in development for our young talent. Neglecting to recruit a new group of 18-20 year olds each year is a mistake that will have consequences
That's a very optimistic view. Let's see what unfolds in 2020. I'll be happy if our young players improve and if most of our mature recruits are healthy and get on the park ( plus of course if Bytel and King start playing regular games )

No...but my guess is a club may rookie him.
Though there are still 2 more DFA periods after the current one.

We win.
How many players come back from such a long lay off and play decent football? Apart from Daniel Menzel, I can't think of a single one.

Rubbish. You rattled off names that include Moore and DeGoey that were better options. Well McCartin was pick one so of course you did.B.M wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2019 10:01am Let’s report things correctly Curly

Re: Bennell
Curly,
Not sure why you can’t understand?
Yes of course they (DeGoey, Moore) were far better options, in hindsight. But at the time I did not suggest them, so cannot take credit for what would have been a correct.
I had Petracca a mile in front, with Brayshaw at 2 and McCartin at 3. I clearly stated that at the time, and ad nauseam since.

Petracca attitude and form not great
Heeney never a chance
Moore never a chance
DeGoey who you rate has had nearly as many off field issues plus injury issues already

Re: Bennell
Calling someone an average human because they took recreational drugs is ignorant, I'm assuming that is why you called him an average human. It would seem you think Lovett and Bennell are average but Cousins is ok,what is the difference?
