2020 Ladder Position Predictions
Now that the fixture is out, i'd be interested to see where everyone thinks we will finish on the ladder next year.
I think we'll be around that 8th-9th area with 12 wins and 10 losses.

18th or better
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
14th with 8 wins, just as we would have done under Richp if he had seen out last year.
Wins over Blues x 1, Bombers, Freo x 1, Hawks, Suns, Dees x 2 and Dogs.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
In my opinion...
We’ll definitely be below Richmond, GWS, West Coast, Collingwood & Bulldogs.
We’ll definitely be above Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide, Port Adelaide & Hawthorn.
That puts us somewhere between 6th & 12th.
I’ll say 7th.

These prognoses absolutely suck. For g-+D's sake. We just have to do better. Fifth! Damn it.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
About 10th seems about right. The momentum around the club should push us up a few spots, but it'd be tricky to mount a case to say we're better than 8th (Essendon), 7th (Bulldogs) and 6th (GWS).
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
It's finely balanced I reckon, could do a Brisbane and rise into the top 4 or could have teething problems with the new coaching group and players all gelling early in the season and end bottom 6. My gut feel say with a bit of luck on the injury front and also some players taking their game to the next level, especially in the midfield, I think we will end up 6 to 8.
If we don't improve on 9 wins it will be seen as having gone backwards but if we only slightly improve but still miss the 8 then then there will still be disappointment. I'm guessing the expectation in the industry is that we are team that can make the 8 so let's hope that expectation doesn't choke us to death. Managing expectation has been our clubs weakness in the past.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
Other sides will improve
Popular opinion is that Carlton will improve (now they have Newnes) and challenge for the finals
In Round 22 they beat us, rolling over us by 10 points in the last quarter in the match after we beat Freo
From that side that lost to Carlton we lose Steven, Acres and Bruce who all contributed (although Steven was quiet)
So from the stats for that game we need to replace - then add over and above the losses to improve sufficiently to move in front of Carlton
Casboult cleaned us up marking at Will when we attacked plus their tall forwards got off the leash from Brown because they were able to space to exploit Brown’s mobility restrictions
So there were structural issues to be addressed
Do we have the resources to address these structural deficiencies from that game?

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
It's hard to get a gauge on where we'll because the team we have this will bare no resemblance to what we had last year.
It's likely that at least 4 of the traded in players will be picked for round 1 (Butler is my only question mark), then King and Bytel could be in. On top of that, last year Carlisle, Hannebry, Geary, Webster, Roberton all missed the majority of the season. We could have half a new team of things go our way.
Hopefully they gel and we give the finals a nudge.

Re: 2020 Ladder Position Predictions
Just feel that we've completely lost our identity. Saints 2020 seem like any team or no team to me. I wish I didn't feel like that but I do. I think Ratten will prove to be a complete dud. Can't understand why we're topping up as if we're about to make a charge up the ladder. Disappointed to have lost Bruce. Can't see where any passion or desire to play for the jumper is going to come from. Dunstan? The new recruits are just proof to me that the club's given up on our coaches being capable of developing players. If they've got no faith in themselves, how can I have faith in them? Well, I haven't.
