Re: Who To Delist
I thought Robbie was gone and it doesn't surprise Rice and White are on the list, especially White as he was given more than enough opportunity to get his act together.
It's looking like Brown will stay on and Newnes to Carlton if that deal goes through. Happy about Brown staying on as I think we need his age and experience around for one more year just to balance the age profile while some of the young/new guys transition into the backline.

Re: Who To Delist
That’s usually the case for those drafted in national draft. Maybe it’s different for mature age recruits.
Anyway, he got to kick a couple of goals in front of a big crowd at the MCG. Not bad memories to take away.

Re: Who To Delist
There must have been concerns over White's professionalism. Rice lacks speed in a game that gets quicker every year. Newnes will end up at Carlton. It was apparent Robbie Young wasn't quite AFL standard

Re: Who To Delist
there were persistent rumours White's professionalism was an issue and that Richo bent over backwards to help him.

Re: Who To Delist
Glad Brown stayed. We need some experience in a pretty inexperienced backline. All going well we wont need him by round 22 if he does his job right. We still need someone for the gorillas that are still around (although their numbers are thining).
I would keep Newnes around as well. Does a job and adds depth as Hannas will only manage break a toe nail somewhere and need to be sidelined. We dont have any picks in the draft so what we have now is pretty much what we have.

Re: Who To Delist
We could if we wanted to free up the list spot and keep both Newnes and Brown.
We would just have to write him a cheque for $2.4 million and his spot would be free.

Not hard to write that cheque, honouring may be a problem.

Re: Who To Delist
McCartin has to be de-listed for his own sake. One more knock and he could suffer brain damage. It's not worth the risk Patrick.

You of course have the relevant medical qualifications to be making such statements?Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Sun 20 Oct 2019 12:14pm McCartin has to be de-listed for his own sake. One more knock and he could suffer brain damage. It's not worth the risk Patrick.

Brown should have been delisted. We have so many KPB why do we need Brown?

Re: Who To Delist
That's it Newnes asked to be delisted.
That means that we have activated picks 51, 82 & 100.
Must take a minimum of 3 picks at the draft or upgrade a rookie.
Wilkie certain to be upgraded from rookie means we don't use pick 100.
But I think Daragh Joyce has to go through the national draft before the club can reclaim him ahead of the rookie draft to fulfill his contract ending in 2021.
We would have rookie pick 5
And would have 23 if another club grabs Darragh.

Re: Who To Delist
You can pull that arrow from your quiver if you want but in all fairness he got a minor knock during a JLT game and was walking around with symptoms for many months. He is prone, nay highly prone to concussions. Why on earth would he play a high speed contact sport again?saynta wrote: ↑Sun 20 Oct 2019 3:42pmYou of course have the relevant medical qualifications to be making such statements?Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Sun 20 Oct 2019 12:14pm McCartin has to be de-listed for his own sake. His parents and his girlfriend must be beside themselves with concern.
