That trade period that saw us get Hannebery and Kent is going to be a costly one
And none of us pointed that out at the time
I struggle to see how Kent would get a game this year as a small forward behind Billings, Gresham, Lonie, Parker, Butler & Hind. He doesn't have the running capacity to go though the middle or play high half forward.
He's fast in a straight line only with poor lateral movement. Bring him out twice when we play Melbourne, he certainly played a cracker against them.
This may be just a small isolated incident with Hannebery, a storm in a tea cup maybe.
I prefer to look in patterns and anyone who cannot see a pattern with Hannebery and fitness and his ability to get himself on the park is burying their head in the sand.
It’s remarkable how bad luck coincides with questionable professionalism
As for Kent... I just laugh at how a few ppl billed him as the outside mid we were waiting for.
Should have offered them some magic beans

I’d be honoured.
It’s why I laugh when ppl say we’re cursed. We make shockingly bad, ill thought out decisions and consider supernatural forces at work when they fail.
Should we have sacked Richo at the end of 2018?
No let him see out his contract with a view of sacking him if he doesn’t make finals... what harm could he do?
Desperate to make finals we over pay to get Hannebery, lure Kent with the promise of a long term contract and don’t trade Steven who apparently really wanted to go.
Steven pretty much walks out for peanuts
Kent is terrible and surplus
Hannebery is dropped from the leadership group and finds it difficult to stay fit

Not the end of the world but not great either.
And not exactly great for all the soft tissue injuries and other issues he has had.
He just needs to be more careful!
Not bad so much for any time out and delay to starting pre-season, but more so for the message it sends if alcohol is involved. Very ordinary. Unimpressed. He better bloody well shape up and play some good footy. 5 years is it @800k?
Metatarsals are horrible. When they 6 weeks, it means usually 6 weeks to get out of the moon boot and another 6 weeks to where you were before the injury.
Gilbert came back too early from his metatarsal a few years ago, and ended up reinjuring it.
Don’t expect a full pre season and even a JLT would be a big ask.

Unlucky or what
I agree.
Inverse to your quote it's also true that it's remarkable how often strong institutions find ways to overcome 'bad luck' with their professionalism.
We've got no one to blame but ourselves. Which is actually comforting because it means we can become a club that isn't beholden to the next quirk of fate that impacts us.

Yeah right.
I am sure it will all come out was it plain flour or self raising ?
What was the strength low or heavy?
Why did we ever draft him did come with baggage via Sydney.

Making it up as we go along are we?. Where the f*** do you get off hinting that alcohol may have been involved. And I am sure he gives a f*** that you are unimpressed. I think someone needs to bloody well shape up but it aint Hanners.

Absolutely. Very unprofessional.
I’m also a bit suspicious regarding the over explanation.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
I think any reasonable person would at least question how a grown athletic man can injure himself on stairs. 8yo’s manage stairs... my dog used to climb to flights of stairs multiple times a day as a puppy without an issue... heck many elderly ppl with mobility issues can manage stairs.
I for one hope he was drinking because if he wasn’t... and he wasn’t carrying a big box or something like that then I think we have a bigger problem

Hilarious thread. Lucky the news re the operation (albeit minor cleanout) on Hill's knee hasn't come out yet.
Unless Hill damaged that knee in a tragic accident that occurred as he was getting out of bed I don't think the reaction will be the same.
Honestly baffled how anybody could be surprised by some of the skepticism about this injury.

Although I did believe this trade was the one that would entice others to come - a price we had to pay. Looks like it got the ball rolling given Hill, Jones, Howard etc.
Have heard that several staff within the Swans footy department have had some medical concerns and unusual pain around their ribs and their mid regions when they heard the latest news on Dan
Doctors have told them it's just a simple case of too frequent and very loud side splitting laughter ...you know...Stop the belly laughing you f****** pricks!!

"sunglasses, hat and other possessions"
hahahahaha
Why not add in "he was holding his mobile phone but he wasn't actually talking or texting on it"
so a professional footy player who can negotiate his way through heavy traffic to get a footy and evade a tackle,
is brought undone by a set of stairs that cannot move and offers a minor vertical challenge.
Really.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

What is not funny is that if we weren’t paying (the reported) $800k or whatever the number is to this guy, we may not have had to let one of Bruce, Steven or Acres go due to salary cap pressure.
He has a trigger fir a 5th, do we get a reverse trigger where each season he doesn’t play drops one off his contract?
