Not happy at all - I would have accepted that deal without a player - but f@rk!

Each to their own but that’s not the way to look at it as it all originated with pick 6.

You need to take into account the deal involving PA which saw us land Howard, Ryder and now Hill
Best not to look a individual trades in isolation but as the whole package when the trade period is finished. So far, I reckon we have done very well. We cannot be accused if not being active and you cannot expect to trade players in without trading some out.

Love the fact we are turning over the list . You need to give something to get something and while lost on the Steven deal the use of 58 to seal the Freo Hill deal evens it out . I liked Acres but either a) just not quite able to have that drive / urgency to tak ethe next step or b) confidence killed by a coach playing him as a stop gap player and back up ruck. Either way best for both is to go. Have also kept first round pick for 2020, when you think the original offer was 6 first round next year and then Acres also and they rejected it ( well done Freo , especially when you need to use 10 on the academy player when you could have drafted 6,7, and used later picks on this player ).

Creamed POrt with the Howard, Ryder deal .

Butler is a low cost low risk trade

NOw just need to see what happens with Bruce and Jones but overall big Win from where i sit .

Bulldogs and Swans have been extremely pig-headed so far (read: tough to deal with). Confident we will get Jones, likely we will keep Bruce now B King is just on Santa's list.

Bulldogs fair enough, why have Swans been pig headed?

Geelong coach meeting with Josh Jenkins in NYC.

They’re building a great culture down there.

I know it’s not strictly trade related, but does anyone know if there is any interest in Chris masten? We would be able to get him for nothing and with our young list profile + losing jack, surely a bit of experience wouldn’t hurt. Minimal downside risk I would’ve thought.

If we get Jones and Butler, this has been a huge success.

We targeted several players, and landed all of them.

We gave up players that we were prepared to lose and in some cases - wanted to move on.

Next year's 1st remains in place.

So what is the final summary of our trades?

We have, hands down, won this trade period. No question.

We nailed everyone we wanted. We lost a few along the way but what we were trying to achieve was extremely ambitious.

The club did great. In my view.

And when people want to suggest that we paid overs, think about Sydney and Carlton.

An abject failure and a disaster for both clubs. Players being forced to stay at clubs they want to leave.

Carlton missed out on Martin and Papley via the trade period.

Sydney on Daniher.

Adrain Dodoro strikes again.

Go Sainters.

One thing can be said about our list management team. They identified their targets and got the deals done. No F*#@ing around.

5 from 5
Stuv was gone long ago.
Sad about Bruce, but you gotta make way for the King Josh.
Upgrades in every import.
Hill and Ryder combo could be something inspiring for many of our youngsters.
Howard sounds promising.
Jones has grunt to get the pill.

About time we grew a pair, got attractive, and got what we wanted.
One more thing to get Saints.

Being a St.Kilda supporter, especially for as long as I have been, you're always a bit pessimistic. But, this is the best trade period we have had by a long way.
Excellent job guys 5 from 5.
