Re: Draft Hand
Maybe. But our history in drafts has been poor. It's very hit and miss. Rather trade in proven performers. Anything outside of the 1st round is lotteryB.M wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 3:48pm Let me get this straight

Re: Draft Hand
I wouldn’t be surprised if we are planning to move another player out for picks (someone we haven’t heard about yet)

Re: Draft Hand
So Howard will play FB until he’s 35
And
Hill will play until 34?
Hill is a proven gun
Howard is not a gun at the moment, he may turn out alright. He may not.

Re: Draft Hand
Hannerbrey showed more than enough in those last few games to suggest a second round pick for him was a bargain and Ryder is a great get.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:30pmHappy with Howard & Hill, Hannebery and Ryder - no thanks.CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:08pmTraded in Howard, Hill Ryder and Hannebery. Hannebery passed a fitness test and managed 4 average games for a season on a reported $800K.CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:38pmHannerbrey showed more than enough in those last few games to suggest a second round pick for him was a bargain and Ryder is a great get.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:30pmHappy with Howard & Hill, Hannebery and Ryder - no thanks.CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:08pmTraded in Howard, Hill Ryder and Hannebery. Year 1 - BUST!
Lets see what happens in 2020.
Ryder - is finished, old, slow, immobile.
Has been a very good player but he is done, totally cooked.
Happy with Howard & Hill is a jet.

Re: Draft Hand
We were contending in those years and had a young McEvoy who was not ready.
Ryder steps in to take time from and quell the development of the best young ruck the saints have seen in 20 years.
Ryder will be #1 ruck and Marshall will play KPP and pinch hit filling the Bruce role.
Stupid decision by the saint IMO.

I see Ryder as still a capable ruckman, who most likely will actually give us more at centre bounces and around the ground ball ups than the rapidly improving Marshall.
At the same time Marshall is a vast improvement on the ruckwork of Bruce et al and can become a really potent KPP.
I actually think our mids may be relishing the thought of roving to a serious ruck combination.
And I'm sure Marshall Is going to learn plenty from Ryder in the next couple of years.

Re: Draft Hand
We came into this trade period with a terrible hand. We improved it with our deal with the Giants. That was the critical move.

Re: Draft Hand
Zac Smith is yet to be traded in.
Sydney say Bulldogs pick 32 not enough.
Bulldog's have picks 13, 32, 45, 51, 53 & 89.
Saints say Bulldogs have to secure us Zac Smith if they want Josh Bruce.
Alternative is St Kilda bundles everything they have left in the cupboard = 2020 3rd round pick attached to Fremantle, 2020 4th pick attached to Port Adelaide and give Sydney back Hannebery !
Our 2019 picks 76 and 82 presently have zero draft points but may gain some during the draft as multiple picks are used to secure father-son and academy picks.
Don't be surprised if one of those 2020 picks gets used to secure Butler.
Who do you want Josh Bruce or Zac Smith ?

I hope Ryder grabs hold of Ross, Dunstan and Billings and makes them watch that play 100 times a day.freely wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:53pmLest we forget...Mr Magic wrote: ↑Wed 16 Oct 2019 4:48pm ...
