Proud of my club. There is a person involved here. In better days he gave everything for our club. Go well Jack.

Can you guys please enlighten those of us who don’t know what you’re talking about?

I alluded to it in another thread. Obviously laws surrounding slander etc . Not hard to work out. Put it this way, all these footballers suffering from depression all appear to have one thing in common from what I can tell....

I had a friend who suffered from depression and alcohol was his means of self-medication.

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
Is it acceptable to boo a 4 times best and fairest?
Or do we just have to quietly hope his career goes down the drain?

I don’t care about the issues
I care that Jack is rated the same as and traded for Zac Smith
Who is useless!

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
That JS rumour is bulls***.
I watched the two of then in games and at training afterwards after it first emerged and there is absolutely no difference between them compared to Steven and any other player at the club.
The reason for allowing the trade to go through at whatever the trade ends up being is purely because of Jack's mental issues and drop in fitness, and not to do with the colorful rumour that you and others choose to believe.

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
Agree 58 is an insult - to the player and his career and to the Club which gave him the opportunity
I note reference to his Contract being back ended
On a different matter entirely, so totally unrelated to Steven obviously, the Child Support Agency go by an equation in calculating any Assessment on behalf of a Custodial parent
And the assessment is based on gross income, not the after tax income of the non Custodial parent
Apart from that, and also unrelated obviously, the Family Court of Australia is a very difficult jurisdiction for a Father, but not impossible
The Court acts in the best interests of children

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
I’m happy for him to f-cl off.
He doesn’t want to be there so he will be a negative influence if he stays.
Thanks for your service, NEXT!
He’s just a former saints player now so I don’t give a f-ck about him (yes I get the irony between the above two paragraphs).
If I was coach I’d let Marshall know that he was required to run through Steven ay every opportunity and make him hurt, really hurt.
But hey I’m old school

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
Was always going to be a late pick for Stevens and guess what Lethlean and co will accept it.
then we give 12 &18 receive 10 from PA for Ryder and Howard.
FMD Ryder should not have been traded for a high pick.
Will be in the SANDY team too slow overweight and past his best .
Totally over it

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
I'm not that fussed to be honest. We have to have (and show) some faith in our club sometimes. I sat and listened to Clarko on GF day saying sometimes you just have to suck-it-up with drafting/trading
It's what they do with the picks that really counts. So far I'm impressed

34% of gross iirc
for two tin lids
like ... get real
imagine being a self employed tradie
where most of your gross went to paying
off materials
i laughed
then promptly retired
... anything ,
so that they sent their reams of paperwork
to some other poor sap.

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
I wouldn't get too worked up about receiving Pick 58 for Jack Steven. Fact is that he has had major mental health issues that have prevented him from playing a lot of games this year, and gauged on the games he played when he did come back in he did not look to be at peak fitness.
Having requested a trade to Geelong post 2017 it seems to me that he is most unlikely to have great desire to continue to play for the Saints in 2020 and could well continue to suffer further ill health.
Pick 58 to me reflects reasonable value based on Jack's most recent form and his age - if moving to Geelong aids his recovery we should all wish him well!

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
Do you really think Jack would be insulted if he get's what he wants? Doesn't he then get a chance to use the opportunity for his own purposes whatever they may be. I note no other club expressed interest in Jack and that was despite him indicating he would be open to dealing beyond Geelong. To the top wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:15pm Agree 58 is an insult - to the player and his career and to the Club which gave him the opportunity

Re: Jack Steven ... 58 :(
Im just glad he's going. Guy needs serious help and I don't think he's ever going to be the player he was. It would be a miracle if he gets back to where he was. I wish him all the best and hope he gets the help he needs.
