Early word on Trade radio is that we take the lower pick and avoid paying Salary next year. We get a higher pick, we pay salary.

Reported deal is that 58 will go to Freo along with a future seconder and pick 10 from Port for Hill. We get to keep our future first. If that is the deal it softens the deal a bit with Stuv.

We didn't have much leverage in this. Just have to cop it. It's just that Jack hadn't come out and said he wants to move this year, so I was sort of hoping he might decide to stay.

58 is to make up part of the deal. I have too much faith in gubby to do a straight swap and salary for jack steven. It may end up that we only get pick 58 but as mentioned before it may be as part of another trade to get hill and save our first rounder next year

Yep, this is it. Understand the outrage if 58 for Stuv is considered in isolation, but context and it's part in any other deals are what's important. If Stuv really wants to go then better he does. If we get 58 and pass it on to Freo and it means we keep next year's first rounder, then ok. Move on.
