Bulldogs and B. King
Interesting to see the Bulldogs making enquiries about B. King.
Almost certainly bluffing to get the Saints to agree to a lower draft pick for Bruce.
Blare about it to the press to make sure everyone hears about it. Shrewd work.

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
So does that help us or not?
If a lot of clubs are wanting the boy does that make it easier for GC to let him go?
Or does that pump up the price they will request? If he nominates us then the bartering will be meaningless?

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
It is a shot across our bow but one we should expect many more of in relation to Ben.
I hope St Kilda have sold the marketing worth of the Twin Towers to not only the Kings & their Managers but also the AFL.
GCS will do very well from this.

I like the sentiment that it’s a game play or shot across the bow but wouldn’t you think the Bulldogs may be genuinely interested in a 19YO talented 202cm KPP?

All clubs would be interested and would sound out his manager.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Sat 12 Oct 2019 9:10am I like the sentiment that it’s a game play or shot across the bow but wouldn’t you think the Bulldogs may be genuinely interested in a 19YO talented 202cm KPP?
Saints have inside running but if another club offers something ridiculous he may be tempted.

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
Interesting that clubs can white ant GCS immediately after all the priority picks award ceremony. Silly; AFL should penalize Dogs a pick for impertinence and not being a team player. And we asked first.

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
I'm not saying they or anyone else wouldn't be genuinely interested. This is a warning to StK that it won't just happen, that we must be prepared for a fight if we want him.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Sat 12 Oct 2019 9:10am I like the sentiment that it’s a game play or shot across the bow but wouldn’t you think the Bulldogs may be genuinely interested in a 19YO talented 202cm KPP?

Indeed. And if he has a good year, we will have to pay at least two first rounders.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 12 Oct 2019 12:16pmI'm not saying they or anyone else wouldn't be genuinely interested. Yes St B which is why we cannot afford to pay overs (Freo overs) for Hill. An interesting question now is, who would we prefer IF we could only have one, Ben King or Brad Hill?st.byron wrote: ↑Sat 12 Oct 2019 12:30pmIndeed. Re: Bulldogs and B. King
I don't think it will come to that. Hill has made it very clear he does not want to be in Perth next year. Freo keeping him wont end well for them. They can bluster all they like, he surely is gone. Just a matter of haggling the price.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 12 Oct 2019 12:42pmYes St B which is why we cannot afford to pay overs (Freo overs) for Hill. If your hypothetical did come to pass, I don't know. Hill is a proven quality player in his prime. King is a huge prospect, has shown promise, has his whole career in front of him, but isn't a proven star. Tough question, but I don't think it'll come to that.

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
Cheers I hope you're right. That outside class & pace is something we've been screaming for for years & the marketing, structure, flexibility and headaches both Kings could cause is salivating for a club where StK is at.

Re: Bulldogs and B. King
Of course they're going to have a crack at him as well. Do people honestly think other clubs are just going to stand aside and let us take King? Jeez that's stupid.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

We'll take Max and Ben.

Sounds like the Bulldogs were just Wayne King themselves.

Just look at that photo of him and his brother and tell me he’s not coming to the Saints.
