Freo wont take 14 for Hill, they will request pick 5 and even more if possible as they have the upper hand in this deal. All the rest comes crashing down on that one point. No point offering Lonie as they have many younger small forwards so Lonie roles isn't a requirement for them.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2019 4:24pmKate wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2019 11:12amI think if we approached the season with this forward setup we will be in for frustrating times.Rocket wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2019 10:20am With Bruce on way out ..I think the best outcome is:
* Bruce to Bulldogs for pick 14, maybe a 3rd rounder or player
* Pick 14 to Fremantle for Hill
* Pick 5 to Gold Coast for Ben King
Bruce going leaves a significant gap, but if we bring in Ben King earlier it’s win:win and our forward line albeit young however looks a damn sight better long term
Lonie, King, Long
Membrey, King/Ryder, Billings
The club must be looking at this type of scenario to maximise Bruce lose
Ryder would be the weak link in this scenario. He is not a full forward and not likely to develop into one. Marshall might develop into a FF, but do we want to turn our back on his proven potential as a top ruck?
Kings would be a work in progress but with a likelihood of high reward down the track.
I wouldn’t be unhappy with this. Not problem is I can’t see Freo accepting pick 14 for Hill.
I’d be happy with the following ins:
Hill
Jones
King
Jenkins
We are just too optimistic on our idea of deals bas Jack Steven who will be a steal for Geelong the way media stories allude to a "fair deal" for him.
