Ryder & Hill
Have seen on Social Media this morning that the deals for Ryder and Hill will be finialised today.

Re: Ryder & Hill
Hope not. Early deals would mean giving up Pick 6 without splitting it, which is clearly the right thing to do.
I'm happy to wait as late as possible; all the value deals get done late.

Yeah f*** that.
Split pick six into two in the teens.
If they dont do that they have rocks in their heads.

Re: Ryder & Hill
I don't think Freo will accept a split pick. They surely are aiming to lure Kelly. They could offer Geelong 6 and 7 together. More likely I reckon we'll send 6 to Freo and there be some other pick or player swaps involved.

Re: Ryder & Hill
I'd imagine something like the Carlisle deal...
Give up pick six but get an early-ish one coming back the other way.

Re: Ryder & Hill
The only way forward is to do a very fair deal.
Who cares if we pay a little overs, it been a while since a talent like Hill chose the Saints.
STFU, give them 6 and get #26 back.
Fair deal for all parties.
We are not a destination club and can’t play hardball, so getting deals fair deals done is paramount.
Unless of course it’s Essendon or Carlton, then f-club them I hate those pricks.

Re: Ryder & Hill
It’s a miniscus issue which almost every player in the AFL will have at some point. Even if it needs a tidy up he would miss maybe 4-6 weeks of pre season.

Re: Ryder & Hill
I doubt whether Freo would be happy with giving 26 back, that's not us paying overs, but them. It values hill at 18. If they do that, great for Saints.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Mon 07 Oct 2019 8:42pm The only way forward is to do a very fair deal.

Re: Ryder & Hill
I’m surprised that giving #6 and getting #26 would rate the trade value at #18, I assume that is points based?takeaway wrote: ↑Mon 07 Oct 2019 9:55pmI doubt whether Freo would be happy with giving 26 back, that's not us paying overs, but them. Maybe it’s not enough then.
Hopefully #6 & #59 or a steak knives player gets #26 back.
My main point is anyone thinking #6 should be off the table is kidding themselves, we have a quality player wanting to come to the club.

Yes, points based so just an indication. We would need a sweetener to get 26, but I think it is fairly certain 6 will be used, Lethlean virtually said so. He also said he's not going to worry about "the nickels and dimes", so he wants a fair deal, without worrying about a small "win". A few on BF say WCE approached us offering 14 & 24 for 6, I thought initially a good deal, but it would put Freo off side and threaten the Hill deal. Just use 6 and change/steak knives to get 26 back.
