* Bruce to Bulldogs for pick 14, maybe a 3rd rounder or player
* Pick 14 to Fremantle for Hill
* Pick 5 to Gold Coast for Ben King

Bruce going leaves a significant gap, but if we bring in Ben King earlier it’s win:win and our forward line albeit young however looks a damn sight better long term

Lonie, King, Long
Membrey, King/Ryder, Billings

The club must be looking at this type of scenario to maximise Bruce lose
I think if we approached the season with this forward setup we will be in for frustrating times.

Ryder would be the weak link in this scenario. He is not a full forward and not likely to develop into one. Marshall might develop into a FF, but do we want to turn our back on his proven potential as a top ruck?

Kings would be a work in progress but with a likelihood of high reward down the track.

I wouldn’t be unhappy with this. Not problem is I can’t see Freo accepting pick 14 for Hill.

I’d be happy with the following ins:

Hill
Jones
King
Jenkins
Freo wont take 14 for Hill, they will request pick 5 and even more if possible as they have the upper hand in this deal. All the rest comes crashing down on that one point. No point offering Lonie as they have many younger small forwards so Lonie roles isn't a requirement for them.
We are just too optimistic on our idea of deals bas Jack Steven who will be a steal for Geelong the way media stories allude to a "fair deal" for him.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Ben King at St.Kilda all pie in the sky talk. Boom Boom.
Dead right.
We will take a round 3 pick and not argue.
The Ben King idea is just a good idea without any real chance. We need elites as do Gold Coast. Who do we have to offer for King that we are prepared to let go for potential rather than certainty?

Kilda wrote: Tue 01 Oct 2019 9:03pm Skeptic, if your mail is correct, then this is THE trade we need to secure over all others.

Give the Suns our pick 6 and throw in a player if need be but the club desperately needs to be bold. Securing the King twins could be a true turning point in the club’s fortunes.

I’m tired of our club playing Mr.Nice guy.... we let Jamie Cripps go for peanuts out of compassion and now we hear similar rumblings with Jack Steven.

Ben King should be the club’s number one priority. If he really has requested a trade to Moorabbin then we bloody well need to ensure it happens. This is St Kilda’s one great opportunity. Don’t blow it, please.
I Think its a dream but if proven true what do we have to enable the move? We will have to trade off our future Brad Hill and Bruces value from Bulldogs wont be sufficient to entice the Gold Coast. I would love to be optimistic but other clubs smell our delight at times and wind trades hands down.

To me it would cost our #1 draft pick for next year, the pleasantries from the Bruce trade to Bulldogs and others who might feel they would have a better chance playing elsewhere. Retain pick 6 for Hill. Its essential to have runners like Hannebery and Hill. Our past focus on talls hasn't provided a good result and some we have collected are now playing back. They could return to the forwards but probably not if both Kings are available and not injured.

Media I have read indicated North was the likely candidate (Fox Footy) but nothing was certain. Seems like a good choice if the attributes mentioned are on the money.

Dunstan & 2020 1st ------ M.Crouch
2020 2nd ----------------- D.Howard

I don’t think your allowed to trade two future picks. You would need to bring in a future pick or figure out a different way.

Rest of the plan sounds great though.

My nephew will sure miss Bruce.

Although if we’re paying a Crouch $1m, can we make it Brad.

Obviously written by a St Kilda supporter because GC, Adelaide and Bulldogs wouldn’t accept any of those.

I’m not sure why people bother with these fanciful scenarios. Save your time.

First of all cause its fun.
Two whats so unfair?

Dogs get Bruce and Keith for 13. They can win the flag again next year with those two.

GCS are losing BKing. They just got all that compo from AFL whom im sure wouldve held the handshake leaned in and said "make sure king gets to saints without fuss"
13, 26 AND carlisle?? whats so bad about that? Fine add in Savage. They get experience.

Add Webster to get 3rd or 4th round future back so everythings legal.

I dont see why not. Its fair.

Newnes & 58 --------------------Z.Jones & 62

Newnes is a FA. So if Swans want him it is Newnes to Swans for zero.

Hopefully we will be surpised but there does not seem to have been any reports of Newnes touring another club or clubs. So likely he stays.

If he goes look like $$$ will be low and probably only a 2 year deal due to lack of demand = any compo pick will not be much.

Hopefully Zak will cost us no more than a late second rounder.

Hopefully Caldwell, Rozee and Ben King come back to us for the same reason.

Ahh the catch-cry of ‘its fair’. Love this during trade week. Especially when coming from the biased supporter discussing trades involving their club.

Fair is subjective.

And FYI these Saints players actually have to agree with the trade, that’s in addition to the respective clubs actually wanting them in the first place - which many of the above do not.

More time wasted...

Yep. We did well with the Carlisle deal getting Gresh too. Love how Dildoro blinked hard and gave up 2 first rounders for Shiel last year. What a waste ... he can’t kick a goal or hit a forward target by foot ... not that they’re about to have any forwards left ...
