Re: Dan Butler
We need class ball users- especially by foot and Butler has that. Ratt's comment about ball butchers later in the season pointed to the fact that he probably wants to weed out the butchers and bring in the class.

Re: Dan Butler
Butler would bring classs & speed not to mention
premiership experience & a bit of inside knowledge about how the Tiges go about it ,if not sure how we get him & we do have slot of small forwards!

Re: Dan Butler
He's a poor man's Jack Lonie (a bit taller, but takes less marks) ... and only averages 9 possessions with 80% game time!
Here's how he compares with Jack Lonie ... (not very well at all).
He also turns the ball over 3.1 times on average from his measly 9 possessions - not good.

Re: Dan Butler
Geeze his stats are simply not that good.......
I really do not understand just bringing in known (ie you pretty well know their possible ceiling) lesser lights to just take the place of other lesser lights.
Quality players like Hill I do.
I just do not see the sense in picking up players like Gray, Butler, Kent etc.
Apart from players like Hill, I think we really should be churning through new kids or players like Wilkie who were were not picked up originally till we find some players with upside like Marshall, Wilkie etc.
Just bring in known ordinary players to take the spot of another ordinary player is just treading water and we will go nowhere.

Is it possible to compare against Butler's best year, 2017?

Re: Dan Butler
He has been consistatly not that flash..

In 2017 he had several patches of games that were better.
His stats would suggest that opposition clubs have worked out how to play on him.

Re: Dan Butler
I look forward to the Club appointing Milney as our Forwards Coach after successfully bidding on Elliott, Papley and Betts to complement Butler, Gray, Lonie, Kent, Young, Sinclair and Gresham......All buzzing around Max King of the Kong.

Re: Dan Butler
Let’s examine Lonie’s last 25 games to see exactly how sh*t he is
29 goals
15 goal assists
340 disposals
57 tackles
Not the worst

Re: Dan Butler
Lonie finished 2018 in strong form and this year he was exceptional until his injured his knee. His tackling and kicking improved out of sight. He also plays in a graveyard position. You really need to take the blinkers off, Bob.saintbob wrote: ↑Sun 06 Oct 2019 1:25pmIf Butler is a poor man’s Jack Lonie then he must be s***.samoht wrote: ↑Sat 05 Oct 2019 11:26am He's a poor man's Jack Lonie (a bit taller, but takes less marks) ... and only averages 9 possessions with 80% game time!

Re: Dan Butler
Pity there isn’t a stat to show how many contests he’s squibbed or how many dives he taken in those last 25 games.

I have not been a big fan of Lonies in previous years, but his start to the 2019 season was outstanding.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sun 06 Oct 2019 2:01pmLonie finished 2018 in strong form and this year he was exceptional until his injured his knee. He marshalled that forward line of small forwards and I was not hugely surprised that the forward pressure and turn overs in the front half fell away after he was injured .
He did show the way and others followed.
People who are bagging Lonie should go back and watch the first 5 games of the year and watch Lonie’s influence.
