B King 2021...
No, not claiming any new news here, just posting Subscriber Only articles from the Herald Sun that most punters here can't access.
From this morning:
Is this why Saints are letting Bruce go?
TIM MICHELL
Former Saint Nick Dal Santo says the club would have “some confidence” it can reunite Ben King with his twin brother Max at Moorabbin next year.
Dal Santo said St Kilda’s willingness to let one of its leading forwards Josh Bruce cross to the Western Bulldogs suggested the club was already planning for the future.
Ben King played 14 games and kicked 17 goals in his debut year for the Suns, but was still recently being linked with a return to Victoria.
“This has been going on for 12 months when he first went to the Gold Coast Suns,” Dal Santo said.
“If they want to get the deal done, they have got to pay for Ben King. That’s just the way that it is.”
The No.6 draft pick in the 2018 national draft, Ben King will command a huge price if he returns to his home state after two years.
It would be a dream scenario for St Kilda, who could deploy the brothers as their bookends for the next decade.
“You have Ben King at one end. Max King at the other, Rowan Marshall rucking,” Dal Santo said.
The ex-Saints midfielder said it made sense to let Bruce go while he still had currency.
St Kilda could acquire Western Bulldogs’ second-round pick, No.32, for the forward.
“I don’t think anyone wants to see Josh Bruce go but unfortunately these things happen at times,” he said on AFL Trade Radio.
“On the other hand, at least they are doing something.”
St Kilda coach Brett Ratten denied Bruce had requested a trade yesterday, shortly before Bulldogs chief executive Ameet Bains said he was intent on moving to Whitten Oval.

Re: B King 2021...
I reckon we would stand a better chance this year.
Next year it could be quite expensive.

Re: B King 2021...
Why would you give up a quality player to add a quality player?
What have you gained?
You really want to add quality to the quality you have.
Richmond didn’t give up quality players for Prestia and Lynch.

Billings is 50 times the player that Gresham is. No way I'd trade Billings at all.

Re: B King 2021...
Or he could be cheaper after second year blues. If he only becomes Oscar Mc Donald or even if he's Joe Daniher or Jesse Hogan what have we gained. We have sold Bruce and Billings/ Gresham to end up with a KP defender.
To me he's a good prospect but no priority. There is a chance he'll be a champion but also a chance that he only becomes a good player. We need elite players that play on ball. Losing Steven we are down our best mid straight away. Hill will be an off set but the rest of what we bring in will be off set by the players we lose. Jones will come in and replace players like Acres/ Newnes he's not a massive up grade on either. B for B. Grey keeps Parker, Lonie or Hind out of the side who will potentially have more up side long term but will be second choice.

Re: B King 2021...
I think you forgot about Deledio, as that is exactly what Richmond did do.
Richardson said to counter the loss of Deledio, Richmond had acquired younger players Josh Caddy, Dion Prestia and Toby Nankervis, who he expected to be at Punt Rd for the next eight-10 years.
“We’re really pleased with the addition of Josh and Dion (to the midfield) despite the fact we’ve lost a terrific player and great servant of the club in Brett,” Richardson said.
Top end FAs do not tend to join bottom teams.
We did land Membrey and Robbo though.

Re: B King 2021...
If we wait until he is out of contract next year we are in a stronger position.
What can the suns do if he says I am homesick and will return to Melbourne and makes it clear he wants to play with his twin brother.
Suns are not in a position to knock back a first round pick.

Two Kings has enormous marquee value. Plus you'd expect they'd be disinclined to bust us financially.
Get it done, Saints.

I really hope the club is not as obsessed with Ben King as some on here.

LOL...feeling weepy after the mod has finally got sick of his tactics? Time to crawl back after depositing a little fake news. Another good reason to avoid BF.The Fireman wrote: ↑Thu 03 Oct 2019 8:13pmyou wrote this on BF

Re: B King 2021...
Agreed. I'd give 'em pick 6, Geary and Newnes this year and be done with it.
