Re: Mav Weller retired
Probably played best footy at St Kilda. Best wishes for future.

Re: Mav Weller retired
Seems like he enjoyed his year at the tigers. Played some good footy with us early, got pigeon holed as a defensive Forward and once that happens, you are done... ask Jack Newnes.
In fact, there are similarities between the two of them and their time at StK.
Both ended up defensive forwards, and lost offensive confidence
I also think both got way too heavy and lost their running ability.

Dud. Too short (never took a contested mark), too slow and very average skills. He contested well, but so what? When did this become a point of congratulations rather than a given?

Weird strategy Richmond had...
Notice how they started the season with him in the team based on his pre-season form then when he wasn’t playing well they dropped him.
What’s up with that?
Where’s the pointlessly playing him regardless of form endlessly for no logical reason strategy... you know, the Richardson mantra.
They’ll never win a premiership with that kind of thinking

Then again, why the hell did they recruit him in the first place?
And isn't his tweet a sly dig at the Saints?

2017 onwards the club’s poor ability in developing players gradually became more pronounced.
It’s funny, I took it as a bit of a dig at the club as well but it may be us being sensitive. Maybe he was just really wanting to show his appreciation to the RFC.
Would be disappointed if he had a crack however because he got meh got more than a fair go here.

Cho couldn’t handle letting players go, so we organically built a team of HBF type players that belonged in the compost.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Re: Mav Weller retired
Looked to show real potential in his first three seasons with us, but then drank his own bathwater after 2016. A young retiree at 27 years of age. I’m glad he finished his career on a high note playing in the Tiges’ VFL premiership team. Best of luck to Mav in his life after footy.
