I won't argue but if I was on the Geelong trading team I'd say if they want more than a late second, he can retire. The real world risk, with all conspiracy theories aside, is a big one.
His welfare, beyond his current contract, is his concern. If moving to Geelong or Lorne makes such a difference, as to turning his life and career around, then he is skating on thin ice. I believe this beyond all the diatribe on here. I believe the best solution for his future is actually to finish his contract and move on with his life. Is it that easy, only Jack really knows and only he can make that decision. I doubt he blames St.Kilda.

Our list has so many holes and so many question marks over it we aren't in a position to clear players for less then their value in a trade.

Interesting trade scenario forming...will Kelly out, and Gaz possibly looking to retire (must admit, I reckon he'll keep going if its up to him) and out of the midfield regardless, the Cats 'want' to land Steven begins to look like a 'need'.

Kelly being out of contract, the Worst Coast are in the box seat, Cripps style, so they might just have to take a second rounder if forced. They can pass that on to us for Steven, cheers. With Jack's wage gone, the need (as Flog Barrett reports) to move Bruce to clear up cap space for Hill lessens, giving us the whip hand against the Bullies. If he really wants to go, we'll have the Dogs first rounder.
