So we will have 2 players who were suspended because of the injecting regime at Essendon

Good vibe at the Saints right now. I haven't been this excited in a number of years since 2010.

Yeh, I thought this thread might have some new about our forgotten man. I should have known better than to open the thread.

We are now a destination club. A little unclear what for.

Re: Paddy.. It's all about the vibe...
I note media reporting that the friendship between Ryder and Carlisle was a determining factor in Ryder seeking to come to St Kilda
Interesting given the support of some on here to have Carlisle traded out - until the Coach said he was a required player
So who promoted having Carlisle traded out again?

Of course the extra year and a bit more kanga would give him a really good vibe.

Going by the article in "The Age" there is about $300k plus incentives worth of good vibes. That, and an expectation of 50% ruck time.

I think it's a fair point. So? So, 1) other teams' woes will -in theory - help. Something to keep in mind? I don't think we are gonna launch a subversion program, but..begs the question 2) I wonder how many other team benefited from collecting would-be Essendon recruits.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Which means Bruce is gone.
Marshall and Ryder switching between 3rd tall and ruck.
King and Membrey as other talls.
Parker, Long and Gresham as other forwards....quite an indigenous forward line!
Brad Hill pushing up from the wing....Deadly

Re: Paddy.. It's all about the vibe...
If we get Keath, or even if we don’t.......still the possibility Josh Battle moves back to the forward line.
All being well.......Carlisle, Roberton, Wilkie, Austin, Clavarino.....add Keath and how many more tall defenders do we need? Nathan Brown if he stays on the list.

Re: Paddy.. It's all about the vibe...
So who is the ‘first tall’?
Membrey 188
King 90kg and 19yo
Ryder is a useless forward
Marshall plays far better in the ruck
Battle looks comfortable and better across HB
Maybe it’ll be Darragh? Since they shifted him forward... maybe Mayo... Maybe Our first pick 75?

Re: Paddy.. It's all about the vibe...
I agree with BM on Membrey, King and Battle
I would add that I have a very high opinion of Battle who to me could turn into a premier player swinging between defence and attack (so a goal kicking defender aka Gram and Maguire)
With Ryder time will tell but I do note he was AA as recently as 2017 so you could be excused for suggesting he has class - and, of course, he has played as a ruckman not as a forward as I understand
At Port Adelaide, which has always had strong rucks, he has fallen behind young talent which happens
In regard Marshall he improved out of sight in 2019 starting with his ability to hold marks - in 2018 he was getting hands on the ball in contests but was being buffeted hence not completing marks
Now he is holding what he was dropping - so confidence, hands or bulk or a combination of all but his marking has become exceptional
The other fact is his skill and mobility - also improved out of sight to exceptional
If he now spends time forward with Ryder rucking these attributes we witnessed in 2019 will trouble the best of defenders - no doubt
If Bruce goes then Marshall forward and Ryder rucking appears the solution
So, guessing
Roberton. Austin. Wilkie
Clark. Carlisle Coffield
Hill. Acres. Hannebery
Membrey. Marshall. Billings
Gresham King Steven
Ryder Steele. Ross
Bytel. Dunstan and take your pick given some others may be coming
Steven is there because he has not to date been reported as seeking a trade
And I would love to add McCartin
And I would love to see Steele, Ross and Dunstan start to hit the scoreboard, plus reversing their current handball to kick ratios so becoming attacking weapons
