Re: Trade Summary...
Given the media presentations that St Kilda will obtain Jones (who I know nothing of) using the Second Round Pick they receive from WB for Bruce, why is there no mention of the Pick we receive courtesy of Steven being stolen by Geelong?
Instead of trading Bruce out?
What am I missing?
Given it is said a shallow Draft, who is there in the Second Round and particularly late
I now note that the players we need to improve from including our “half back flanker” numbers are now being mentioned

Re: Trade Summary...
There would be a lot of argy bargy going on at the moment, and the media just latch on to what the latest rumour they've heard, as a result piecemeal reports.
Maybe re Bruce the Saints want pick 12, and they may have thrown McKenzie into the mix. I could see Bevo placing value on McKenzie, I think he is underrated on here. If we get 12 for Bruce & McKenzie, Ok with me. Or McKenzie may be used in another deal.
Will be an interesting trade period.

And no they are not. E.g. I don't agree with Pundits view on Zac Jones. He would be good for us. He played in a GF against the Dogs as a 21 year old. Has tons of pace and ability and hardness. Along with Hill on another wing they could both be very damaging in at Marvel and the G. Chuck Billings in the mix also and we have three very good players running around on the wings each week.
It’s so bloody obvious who you are, you’re kidding no one but yourself.
How you’re not permanently banned for baiting is beyond me.
Why don’t you head on over to ‘Big Football Player’ and stop destroying this site, you tiresome twit!

Seems like every thread you feature in JRF there’s is this constant need to try and return the focus back to football. No doubt you’ll play the victim card but it is always you... or about you, or involves you.

Go back to defending the child molester, Pell, Pundit
You are a disgrace to humanity and the fact that you present as being interested in St Kilda is very concerning for anyone contemplating taking their children or grand children to a St Kilda game or function
I suggest however you are an Essendon supporter defending the deliberate and then concealed injecting of players with performance enhancing drugs and that is your purpose on here along with at least one other, whose contribution you quoted on another thread re Ryder

Changing the subject.
What about Josh Jenkins? More of a stay at home FF but might be room for him if Bruce goes.
We really don’t have the picks anyway.

Re: Trade Summary...
So I thought we bought in Gubby Allen late last year who was a reputed mover and shaker behind the scenes in terms of getting deals done.
We will soon if he has earned his pay.
Nothing suggested so far (except maybe Brad Hill) has gotten me too excited.
In: Hill, Jones, Ryder , late 2nd Round pick
Out Pick 5, Bruce, Steven
Doesn’t exactly seem like we over achieved

Re: Trade Summary...
Interesting that when PA touched up Sydney late in the season Ryder kicked 1.2 and 87 DT points
Jones racked up 66 DT points
Now I am a DT Point skeptic - and hugely so hence there is a proviso
Ryder had 27 hit outs so was engaged as a ruckman at least part of the game
Jones had 17 possessions
I have only looked at that one game, noting Jones did not play against us in the final minor round game (injured?)
Where does the Jones reputation come from and is he another Kent being a periodic contributor only on what we saw in 2019?

Re: Trade Summary...
With Bruce on way out ..I think the best outcome is:
* Bruce to Bulldogs for pick 14, maybe a 3rd rounder or player
* Pick 14 to Fremantle for Hill
* Pick 5 to Gold Coast for Ben King
Bruce going leaves a significant gap, but if we bring in Ben King earlier it’s win:win and our forward line albeit young however looks a damn sight better long term
Lonie, King, Long
Membrey, King/Ryder, Billings
The club must be looking at this type of scenario to maximise Bruce lose

I love it but doubt we’ll get #14 for Bruce it GC will let King go for #5. Assume we’d need to throw something in with Bruce and a lot more for B King.Rocket wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2019 10:20am With Bruce on way out ..I think the best outcome is:

Re: Trade Summary...
Kent is a butt average AFL footballer who was a fringe player at a weak club.
Why we gave him 3 years is a mystery, desperation to land a player?
There is no upside to Kent, 2-3 good games a year is his standard.

Ryder would be the weak link in this scenario. He is not a full forward and not likely to develop into one. Marshall might develop into a FF, but do we want to turn our back on his proven potential as a top ruck?
Kings would be a work in progress but with a likelihood of high reward down the track.

I wouldn’t be unhappy with this. Not problem is I can’t see Freo accepting pick 14 for Hill.
I’d be happy with the following ins:
Hill
Jones
King
Jenkins

We are a terrible judge of talent... like really bad.
We tend to undervalue what we have and give it away cheaply and overrate external talent and pay overs/overcommit to it

Well nothing to suggest today that we have missed out in any way by not gaining Tomlinson.
