Re: Trade Summary...
If were to pick up the following 4 players via trades:
Hill, Jones, Keath and Ryder
and perhaps have to farewell:
Bruce, Steven and Newness
I'd be pretty excited (although sorry to see Bruce go)
We've also got Bytel and King to come in, Clavarino will be injury free and knocking on the door, Logan Austin comes back in after missing the year with injury, and the highly promising Jack Mayo, who we picked up in the mid season draft.
Lots to look forward to in 2020......Go Saints!

Re: Trade Summary...
With all due respect, Carlisle will not be playing on the last defensive line - and neither Geary nor Webster are up to the standard
Battle is not a KPP option
The back 6 will have players they are responsible for so matchups will be match by match
But if you want to go by positions with those names, Keath in a back pocket with Carlisle at CHB and Battle on a defensive flank (and creating mayhem by pushing forward looking to hit the scoreboard)
Clark and Coffield will be in the back 6
Then there is Roberton as a bonus - or Wilkie
That gives us the spread of ball users we need to transition from defence
Marshall will ruck - so how do we structure the support?
Hopefully Acres cements a mid field responsibility because he can impact
Steele, Ross and Dunstan bring what they bring but they do not have the “danger” Acres brings
Each of those 3 have limitations hence their kick to handball ratios - we can’t just rely on Hill to add “danger” by way of superior ball usage
The designated full back?
Austin or Claravino?
Bruce, King and Membrey up forward (McCartin?)
I don’t know about Jones or how we get him from Sydney given 5 goes for Hill
We will put a better side on the park in 2020 but other sides will improve as well.
We just have to improve more
Hence moving on from some of the players I have mentioned because they have deficiencies
No doubt that will see a response!

Re: Trade Summary...
Carlisle is probably a better footballer than Bruce, but Bruce is more valuable to the team.
We should be getting the most we can out of a trade for Carlisle, and holding onto Bruce for our heart and soul.

Re: Trade Summary...
Agreed
Battle more than capably played CHB when Carlisle was out, he showed better form than he showed as a forward, even at Sandy. When Jake came back, Battle struggled. CHB is a very different position to FB and I don’t think Carlisle or Battle are comfortable or even any good there
Brown is still the best option.
Battle and Marshall (and Wilkie) were the finds of the season for me... leave them where they performed.

Re: Trade Summary...
In H-Scum :
Apparently Bruce is to be traded for pick 30 to WB which we will on trade to Sydney for Zac Jones.
Just a ridiculous move if this happens.
CHF in prime for a turn-over merchant Flanker

Nee!
Re: Trade Summary...
Not having a dig, but who are you not picking round one next year if Bruce is on the list? A Forward line of Bruce/Membrey/King/Ryder (with Marshall in the ruck) is way too big.
Who plays for the zebs?
Losing Bruce would suck but so would sacrificing the quality of our senior side to have a popular guy in the twos

Re: Trade Summary...
If that trade goes through then the decision makers have lost the plot. Zak is not rated high within Sydney so I'd guess they will be ecstatic if they get pick 30. He is well known for turning the ball over and butchering it by foot. Yep giving Bruce up for that type of player makes complete sense.
Re: Trade Summary...
and who rucks the 20-25% when marshall is on the bench? acres/bruce i think have proven an inadequate chop out

Re: Trade Summary...
Who are these people?
And no they are not. E.g. I don't agree with Pundits view on Zac Jones. He would be good for us. He played in a GF against the Dogs as a 21 year old. Has tons of pace and ability and hardness. Along with Hill on another wing they could both be very damaging in at Marvel and the G. Chuck Billings in the mix also and we have three very good players running around on the wings each week.

That's fine. I'm merely posing a question.
Zac Jones is ok but I don't want to lose Bruce in the process.
Perhaps if Newnes goes we can use any compo pick we get for him on Jones. Geelong may give us something reasonable for Steven which we could use. I'm not holding my breath.
I'd prefer both Billings play as a high half-forward who can have a run in the middle. Same with Gresham, but he plays deeper.

No need to get angry mate. It's a minor footy forum based around St Kilda. I don't ever report anyone but you would deserve it nonetheless. Getting angry on a footy forum. Re: Trade Summary...
I doubt that alone would be the trade. ie could be 30 and 41 to gain Jones and Keath for example.
