ITS OFFICAL Ratts got the gig. Now get behind him Santers
No announcement from the club, just media guesswork so far.
Ok but my source is AFL.com au so it's at least a good source
Lol that people believe the club over professional journalists who have their career on the line.
If it were up to clubs, messaging around all things would be entirely different - if we got told about it at all!
You're kidding.
Caro Wilson, Purple Barrett, Tom Browne et al,
they all work on rumours, lies n innuendo.
Generating clicks is what they are paid for.
Truth isn't important at all.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
Remember one of the 10 Commandments : Thou shalt have no other team before thee

The lies and rumours are on Twitter. There is no way the AFL would allow their own paid employee (Barrett) to publish an incorrect story on their own digital masthead ... about one of their own clubs ... that they bankroll.
Don’t be naive

I can’t understand the negativity about Ratten being appointed.
He was clearly the best choice for the role.
I always find it mildly amusing when someone tries to add gravity to their unfounded opinion by adding the word clearly.
None of us know how good he will be. It's the same with just about any coaching appointment. Ron Barrassi was the supercoach at North Melbourne, but was a flop at Melbourne. Pagan was a supercoach at North Melbourne and a flop at Carlton. Malthouse was a super coach at Collingwood but was a flop at Carlton. Just because Robert Harvey is a St Kilda man and is an assistant at Collingwood doesn't necessarily mean he's the best candidate.
I don't know Brett Ratten and nearly everyone on this forum does not know Brett Ratten, or Robert Harvey, or anyone else who may have thought was a great choice.
One positive thing, though. I won't have to squirm watching Brad Scott in our coaches box throwing his arms in the air and pulling faces when umpiring decision don't go our way.

Please explain why you think this.....
Coached previously......with only a 50% win record......
Yes, but that was a worst Scum team than what they've been throwing around lately. He was building a team until they saw Malthouse as the messiah. Ha, ha, ha

I wonder if Ratten had stayed at Hawthorn this year and then was appointed St Kilda coach, if the same people would disagree with his appointment?
This is the MAIN reason I'd be appointing Ratts over other coaches like Banger. Obviously, not the only reason but...
Clarkson PLUS Clarkson's disciples have won the last SIX premierships in a row!!
People need to realise that Clarko is a teacher and I believe that we have landed one of his very best students

If you want to quote previous stats. Quote them all from his time at Hawthorn. Carlton moved him on too soon for malthouse, that was a mistake carton fans admit. His time at Hawthorn is huge!! And you can't judge him just on his time as a caretaker. The caretaker position will give him insight into what is required next. He's in prime position to make effective change.
Three year deal so get on board now. He came out strong before the appointment and was blunt. Skill suck and certain players aren't AFL material and they either improve or go.
He also know what holes need filling so I assume he is on the selection board. If we get another HBF who may be a midfielder I will lose my s$@t.
Welcome ratts and make some tough calls early. We need a change and you are the man to do it
Given that we cant get Clarkson its the next best appointment
