Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
If Ratts gets the gig, and I hope he does, I think he will have bigger things in mind for Gresham than “goalsneak”.
He’ll be the first midfielder picked and will kick many goals in that role.

Normal salt...or chicken salt?
Both
Yeah nah, seriously...I think as long as he continues to play midfield minutes it will help him become more team oriented and it will make him a better asset, wherever he plays

Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
Just adding on to this.
Was having a debate with an Essendon friend about Gresh v Orazio, so had a look at the stats again.
Didn't realise that Gresh kicked 30.30 in his second season. 35.20 the year after.
He's a 50-60 goal a year small forward if we want him to be.

Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
This was a good development year for Gresh but I do agree that he would have done more damage as a forward. Could easily have kicked 40 while averaging 16 disposals. I don't mind the fact that he was in the middle though, because he more than held his own, built his tank and added another string to his bow.
Ideally I would like him to play 45/40/15 forward/mid/bench. He is clearly the best small forward on the list and he might be the best clearance player on the list as well - not just talking raw clearance numbers, but quality of clearances as well. So let's have him up forward to do some scoreboard damage and have him in our midfield rotation to add some class and unpredictability to the midfield. I think he could end up being a 20 disposal, 2 goal per game player with that mix which makes him an AA regular at half forward.

Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
Gresh will be an elite Mid/Forward, something we haven't really had other than Jack Steven, who was used too much as the Mid IMHO
In 2017 he wasn't fit enough, as was 2018 - 19, but from next pre-season and onwards, providing he keeps healthy is going to be a very formidable player indeed
Also needs a few (stop drinking the) bath water sessions with Roughy

Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
Forward because players who can kick 50 goals as a small forward are like hen's teeth. He will be a good solid mid but never be elite in that role in my opinion. He has the potential to be truly elite as a forward. I think he is an instinctive forward but I just don't see him as a natural mid.

I’d like something like this. Particularly if we had better mods getting the ball forwars.
