Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
Whats the point??
We - the people - have no input in this!
If he wants out, and the deal is right - we need to take it.
If he does not want out - Get around him!
That being said - I have still signed!

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
And one final thought.
In terms of attracting class players to St Kilda to join Carlisle and Hanneberry, noting that these class players exclusively "land" at high profile Clubs not Clubs such as St Kilda (look at how many former Gold Coast players are now at other Clubs and where, Gold Coast the basket case they are), what message does it send if our best player leaves to join a high profile Club?
We have already lost far too many players to other Clubs (WCE have 3 as the defending Premier Club, all of them automatic selections and performing well).

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
If it were about being pissed with the club or similar then I agree with you, but if Jack needs 'out' it will be a totally different situation. This club has done pretty well over the years in keeping its best players. No one enjoyed winning with his mates yesterday more than Jack, but footy aint everythingTo the top wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug 2019 4:50pm And one final thought.

I’d let him go and try and get overs for him.
If we can turn Pick 6-8 and Steven and pick 15-20 and Hill
I’ll be happy

I reckon he had a beef with Richo. Maybe if Ratten becomes permanent he stays?

Keep raising the stakes Stuv .
As BM said, Hill and a late first improves our side for years to come.

We also have Steele and Bruce from GWS and Membrey from SwansTo the top wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug 2019 4:50pm And one final thought.

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
Steele was traded for pick 24 as he wanted more opportunities
Bruce was traded for a pick in the 40s and like Steele was surplus at GWS
Membrey was a delisted free agent.
Not really stars that were attracted to StK, they just wanted more opportunity and a better contract so they came to StK, like Roberton and Kent

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
Don’t often agree with BM but the presentation that Bruce, Membrey and Steele were not receiving opportunities at their previous Clubs and came to St Kilda seeking improved opportunity is correct
What competition there was for Hannebery I a not privy to but he is a past All Australian
Carlisle was the subject of interest from Hawthorn (at least)
Savage was not a fixture at Hawthorn and Roberton was not a feature at Fremantle
Hence, apart from Carlisle and Hannebery we have not attracted first choice selections at other Clubs
Mind you there are former St Kilda players such as McEvoy, Lynch, Cripps, Hutchens, Hickey who are first choice selections at other Clubs
And, if Steven joins them ........
And isn’t there a fast train in prospect to Geelong?
A City which is how far away from Melbourne?
The AFL is a National competition

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
So I spoke this morning with someone who would be better informed than most and he tells me, after the weekend, Stuv is more likely to stay than not and it has a bit to do with a change in coach.
Not cast in stone though.

Hallelujah!
Stuv’s body language was that of relief.
An article today he stated that his ressies form was very poor and he seemed like he thought he didn’t deserve a recall.
Just shows mentally how tough he is. Fat, unfit and still is one of our best!
Maybe he was concerned about not getting back into the he seniors and drifting off to Geelong end of season??

It's hard to know, but there have been a few things happen in the last 48 hours to give us some hope.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Tue 13 Aug 2019 2:21pmHallelujah!

Watching the boys get around him on sunday, hearing chris Scott's comments, Higgins linked to geelong, Abblett apparently going around another year, plus the fact stuv is on around 900k with us and might only get half that with th cats.
Seems there is a bit to play out

Nice that you had to broadcast that you don’t often agree with me to the top. Nice little patronising back handed compliment.
Not sure why you had to add that little dig? Interesting?!

For what it's worth, and I am not sure how reliable the information is, this just appeared online in facebook AFL News, Trade rumours etc.

Re: Petition to keep Stuv at the Saints
Glad to have Jack stay, but also some reservations.
If he was to go,now would be the right time.
Another indifferent year and his stocks are blown.
