Re: Jack coy on future
In regards Geelong, if Jack wants an insight into that Club and the individuals who inhabit it he could do no better than speak to Neil Roberts and ask about a match day function where St Kilda and everything St Kilda was lampooned, particularly by Scarlett who let forth with his venom with microphone in hand
The result of that day and the embarrassment to those guests who supported St Kilda (included the feted Neil Roberts) was such that I have since refused all invitations to match day functions at Geelong
The abuse of Scarlett was condoned by their President, by Stoneham as MC and by Brownless as the Village Idiot because there was no apology for the unhinged rant by Scarlett
Go to Geelong at your own risk
Hopefully their home deck dominance and opinion of self worth will see their straight sets exit once again - and their fall from Grace
Remember they only survived because Westpac wrote off half their debt when getting rid of them to Bendigo Bank

Scarlett. Biggest flogger of all time and he knows it.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

And, if completely honest, St Kilda moving on from the Richardson/Geary/Longer regime will make St Kilda a better Club

Don't forget that cats have to offer something worth the trade. Their first round draft pick won't cut it as it will be about 15. If they don't come to the party then he stays and realises which team wants him

I don’t think our objections and disgust about Geelong and Scarlett will have any value in Jacks scheme of thinking. Geography, family, new club, new start, playing with legends like Selwood, Ablett, Danger, Duncan and co. will.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Yep, and I remember when we were wondering how we were going to replace Plugger! I mean, you'll never replace Plugger but here we are 20 odd years later and we're still hereshanegrambeau wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug 2019 3:12pm I don’t think our objections and disgust about Geelong and Scarlett will have any value in Jacks scheme of thinking. Maybe not, but Jack's contracted, so it's not only his decision here.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug 2019 3:12pm I don’t think our objections and disgust about Geelong and Scarlett will have any value in Jacks scheme of thinking. Sure, if Jack wants to go, he'll probably get there, but there is not one single Saints supporter on this planet that wants us to give the scum Cats a leg up with a nice deal. If our club lets a contracted champion walk out the door to Geelong for a VFL plodder or a dud pick, we'll burn the joint down. The Cats' complete disrespect for our club has a lot to do with that.

I don’t get how if he does in fact love the club and the boys as is widely claimed, how moving an hour down the road to a brand new club is going to improve his life so dramatically? It’s not like he’s stuck in Qld or WA or anything?
He has serious personal problems.
If he is still clinically depressed - and I’m not certain that he is - a change of scenery isn’t certain to help.
He may be think everything’s going to be hunky dory when he’s back on the coast, but It doesn’t work like that, unfortunately.
Again, I’m not sure of the particulars of his family situation.

That arsehole excuse for a geelong coach was talking down Stuv's value on 360 last night.

Re: Jack coy on future
I get sick of watching him every week with Whately hanging on his every word.
The Geelong bias on that show turns me off as there are few teams I dislike as much.
It supposed to be coaches night but he seems to be a constant invitee.

Re: Jack coy on future
We need to let him go if that is what he wants, with no hard feelings. He is a legend at the club IMO but clearly has some personal issues.
We also need to get something of value in return... not holding him ransom for an exaggerated price but getting something that we think that we can use, whether that is Charlie Constable (maybe we rate him, I have no idea) or a reasonable pick that we can use

It is not by 'Invite" - it is coaches night - because that is the time that they have regulars in - who happen to be coacheslongtimesaint wrote: ↑Tue 13 Aug 2019 5:34pm

It was Scott and Richo for an entire year!

Charlie might turn out OK but he certainly isn't a match winner. Stuv is. Constable and a pick maybe, if Stuv is hellbent on leaving.SuperDuper wrote: ↑Tue 13 Aug 2019 5:37pm We need to let him go if that is what he wants, with no hard feelings. If you have ever attended a Geelong FC function you will be very well aware of what a rusted on Geelong tragic Whatley is - including being MC at their B&F functions at Crown

Gerard Wankley on 360 said that word on Steven leaving is an overreaction.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Tue 13 Aug 2019 5:34pmI get sick of watching him every week with Whately hanging on his every word.

Don't go anywhere near Geelong Stuv. Not a good place to be.

Re: Jack coy on future
Cats may have something higher value than that if Kelly is traded to Freo. Reckon they would get this year’s and next year’s first rounders or close to that for Kelly.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug 2019 2:40pm Don't forget that cats have to offer something worth the trade. Let him go
But if we do for unders, I will f***ing lose it!
I don’t care about just what’s right for Jack, happy to trade him, but not for FA
The Luke Ball situation hurt the club, so would this

Re: Jack coy on future
Don't think he is going.... Most of it is a media beat up.. Why would you go his mates love him here.. Question is how much do we pay him... 3 mill for 3 years. Probably double what geelong would pay.
