If we don't make finals in 2020 they might try and justify the appointment and perhaps they try and take short cuts. 2 years is putting undue pressure on him and will force the club to make mistakes. I don't want us to look for the easy options of hanging on to good ordinary players or recruiting someone because they're cheap or a late draft pick or they're a delisted free agent.
Think long term and plan for the ultimate and plan for sustained finals success and sustained top 4 finishes
The most important thing to do for ANY coach that is appointed is to aim for a premiership. If we show faith in Ratten and we want him to take us to the promised land of premiership glory then we offer him a serious contract. It doesn't have to be crazy money, but I think it has to be a four year deal with an option for a fifth year
