Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
He’s in a familiar spot.
The only time Freo were in the contest today was when Mundy, Fyfe and Sandi had their hands on the footy. Cupboard looked pretty bare after that. Those guys are closer to the end than the start, he’ll bail soon enough and Freo will be irrelevant for another decade.

Saw Ross's mini meltdown on t.v. - Brruuche !!
Well played Sainters.
Glad to see Jack Steven getting around again & impacting the score board nicely.
Well done hanging in there until the last minute I mean last 30 seconds, wow.

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
Time is running out as the Dockers members get impatient but perhaps there's a job offer going in North West Melbourne or perhaps Western Sydney
Still blaming execution and injuries for all losses....Maybe Ross is losing his marbles and that's not good if you want to be a career coach. He's having difficulty with the English language but I suppose for his fans he is a genius and it's normal to be mad isn't it?

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
Really just not that great a coach.
Any coach with:
Reiwoldt
Kosi
Milne
DalSanto
Ball (until2010)
Goddard
Monty
Hayes
Fisher
And a B list that looks like our current A list:
Gardiner
Schneider
Gram
Clarke brothers
Should go deep into finals.
Way has he really done in his coaching career that has him so highly esteemed?
He jumped ship to Freo as they were creating with their list...where will he leave them when he goes.?

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
I think Freo's list management and recruiting has been very good and it's probably due to the CEO and the footy department not allowing Rossco to have his way. Luckily for Fremantle they have demanded that he play the youngsters as well. He keeps talking about where they are 'driving' and that there is a plan to drive towards the line and he's focussed on the line....and then in the press conferences he always blames the youngsters for the losses
I just love seeing him squirm when the bloke asks him to reflect on the season and the big picture, now that they are out of the finals race. He just wants to deflect and tries to take the focus off himself and just wants to talk about anything else except assessing their overall year.

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
What is Lyin's coaching record at Freo. I thought I heard 31 wins out of 91 games, but surly it can't be that poor, can it?

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
Not very good all the same.
I just looked it up 96 wins and 86 losses
Over the past four years his record is quite shithouse. 29 wins and and 57 losses.

He will be lucky if the Westies don't tar and feather him and send him out of town tied upside down to a rail.

Guerra to get the arse. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

"remantle have six of Ross Lyon’s assistants without a contract for next season, with changes to be made to the coaching panel at season’s end.
The Dockers have already told development coach Brent Guerra that he will not be given a contract for 2020, while five others – assistants Simon Eastaugh and Michael Prior, development coaches Roger Hayden and Adam Read and the coach of the club’s WAFL affiliate Peel Thunder, Cam Shepherd – have not yet been told whether they will be offered a position.
As new football boss Peter Bell reviews the coaching department, the expectation is that the Dockers will make two to three changes to the coaching panel, replacing Guerra and one or two others.
Six assistants is a large number to be up in the air at a club where the senior coach has a contract for next season, though the Dockers have staggered some of their coaching contracts.
Under the AFL Coaches’ Association protocol, assistants are supposed to have their futures clarified by August 1.

Guerra was informed he wouldn’t be kept on after he sought an answer from the club.
Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich has declared that Lyon will remain senior coach for 2020, the final year of a four-year contract extension.
The Dockers want to canvass their options for assistant coaches before deciding whether to offer the relevant coaches contracts. Sources suggested the club wasn’t planning a massive clean-out, with measured rather than wholesale change anticipated.
Carlton also have held off informing some assistant coaches whether they would be retained, on the grounds that they have to wait until they have a senior coach installed before making those calls.
St Kilda are in a similar position, though like Carlton’s caretaker David Teague, interim coach Brett Ratten is contracted for next season and could stay on if he does not win the job. Ratten will be interviewed by the Saints this week as the club steps up their coach-search process.
The Dockers have spoken to midfielder Brad Hill about him exploring a trade to a Melbourne club. Fremantle have said that they expect Hill – contracted for two more years – to stay with the club, which is in competition for Geelong’s out-of-contract Tim Kelly, who may again seek a trade to West Coast or Fremantle for family reasons.
St Kilda has been a strong suitor for Bradley Hill, whose brother Stephen is a free agent and can cross to the club of his choice, while the Dockers are trying to re-sign wingman Ed Langdon, who has been weighing up a return to Melbourne."

Re: Urgent message to Mr Ross Lyon
RL's W/L ratio as well as his ability to get teams into grand-finals have always been the 2 main factors that ppl point to when justifying his position as an elite coach.
It's always been a bit mystifying to me because when you take away the part where he's been gifted an elite team with final seasoned players that are expected to win grand finals, his numbers don't stack up to elite at all.
Ppl talk about his amazing achievements with us and Freo... but he's hardly ever done anything remotely special w/o 8-12 AAs in his team

I don't hate him for leaving. I was glad he left. Lyon still reckons he is a great coach. His supporters keep telling us he is a great coach. His detractors are NOT happy because he had all the tools and he simply failed to deliver.

That's understandable when you're in rebuild mode
What is more worrying is that his best players are deserting the club. Weller, Neale and now Hill
Losing Neale for them last year is like us losing Steven
