Yeah reckon we can lay those "rumours" to rest. No angst there. Grea game by Steven and Hanners. Geez we'd look good if we could get those two fit for next year, if Steven stays. One B. Hill was very good today. Would slot in very nicely.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 21 2019
woohoo!
thank christ for that.
jackie boy wonder.
hanna a great showing, ratten rolled the dice on these two and it got us the result.
savage been very good the last few weeks, but awesome today.
in an insipid display of umpiring one stood out as totally incompetent. should not umpire again this year.

Carlisle getting crucified on here but he wasn't that bad and stood up in last quarter. By far the BOG was Elini for Freo. She was anazung

Good win for the club... especially given Marshall went down early and was a bit proppy and we lost Coffield too
Very impressed with Savage who I've been very critical of. if only he can close the gap between best and worst because his best is very good.
Steven... welcome back. Hope he stays. GUN even when underdone

Carlisle cannot turn. Has to play deep and come forward to intercept. I hope he can recover some flexibility otherwise he will be a liability.
Nee!

I’m pretty sure that 2 possessions in 3 qtrs is not that good but he had a good last qtr (despite one brain fade)DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sun 11 Aug 2019 4:58pm Carlisle getting crucified on here but he wasn't that bad and stood up in last quarter. By far the BOG was Elini for Freo. She was anazung

If the boys could just use the ball better and kick more snags then we wouldn’t have to worry too much about the hideous unprofessional level of umpiring dished out like today’s match. F**k the umps were s**t today.....absolute shiteeee

I legit almost burst into tears when Marshall went down today! Seeing him healthy was just as good as the win!

My frustration with him is that I think on talent he is borderline elite... really should be amongst our very best every week. Certainly today and the second half of last week is an indication of how good he can be. Don't know if it's him or how we've been using him but he doesn't play to that standard often enough for my likingThe Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 11 Aug 2019 5:10pm It has always amazed me the bad press that savage gets on here there’s a lot of dumb bastard s on this forum

Hanna's NOT cooked.
Did Dunstan call Eli an ugly bitch- she seemed to hate him.
Great games from Savage and Battle.
Longs best game so far. Acres was unsighted.

That Battle mark at the end was incredible.
Was basically in the contest when it was kicked, then sprinted 20-25m back with the flight at full tilt to take the grab.
Haven't found a video of it yet, but it's outstanding work from the young man.

Acres copped a massive corkie and basically had to stand in the goalsquare most of the second half due to one man down with Coff

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 21 2019
Carlisle was caught out by the absence of a tall forward except when they put 4 then 31 forward
Carlisle was variously responsible for players half his height but persisted and denied space - coming into his own late, taking marks and spoiling
Contributed to the win
Acres copped a “corky” which slowed him hence mostly deep forward
He also persisted and contributed noting the loss of Coffield who has started in excellent fashion and which loss restricted out interchange resource
Savage played well, including taking a couple of excellent defensive marks - now if he can just repeat on a consistent basis
I would say his best game for St Kilda
That is the benchmark because the competition for support defensive positions is really on led by Clark, Coffield and Wilkie

Just watched the second half, great to see us come back from 2 goals down 4 minutes to go, and for Bruce to hold his nerve and kick the winning goal!
