Did the club lie about Hanna's gastro?
Yes or No.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Losing games can only be worsened by knowing that I have some fellow supporters that are ..well...absolute knuckleheads .
I used to have a crack at Collingwood supporter friends saying they must be embarrassed by their fellow supporters.
I knew we had some... but wow...the winner is right here in this forum

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Sure does. The thought of him and Billings sucking up $1.6 million per year doesn't go down well in building a finals team going forward, especially when you compare what quality players we had in the past on less $$ than these two.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
You do realise the salary cap has increased massively...even in the past 5 years so what players were paid compared to now is non comparable.
No one has a clue what Dan or Jack are on.
Billings is close to our best player and easily top 3.
Hannebery is year 1 into 5. Time will tell whether his recruitment was good or not...or worth it.
Both deserve good $'s in any case.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
The Hannebery deal is looking like a dud but we had to spend the money somewhere. No-one else is willing to come to our club so we have to take whatever we can get.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
I'm sure quite a few supporters understand this but when your club is over $5 million in debt and counting, has had limited success, has a crap stadium deal in terms of royalties, then you would expect much better fiscal management of funds from your administration. That's why personally, i don't think much of Lethlean and whatever, hard to conceive motive he had, for giving such a long and expensive contract to a broken 28 year old player. The $$ in the salary cap could have been spent much better imho. I would gladly give the Hannebury deal up in a heartbeat, if it meant clearing at least half our current debt.Special wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:48pmWhy don’t more people understand this?suss wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:40pmThe Hannebery deal is looking like a dud but we had to spend the money somewhere. Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
So can someone explain to me what the consequences would be of a club say only spending 75% of the salary cap one year?suss wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:40pmThe Hannebery deal is looking like a dud but we had to spend the money somewhere. Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Yep. It's illegal and not allowed. You have to pay a certain % of the cap every year. Not sure what it is.
I can imagine the AFL would smash you if you didn't.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Is it 95%? It really is a joke. That rule is a key reason why smaller clubs get trapped in rubbish, over inflated contracts. How can the GC or our list be at best only 5% worse in monetary value to Geelong, WCE or Collingwood?tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 8:05pm Yep. It's illegal and not allowed. Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
So if DH had gastro last week keeping him out it must mean he’s guaranteed this week, right?

Dear Mr Ratten,
Daniel can't train this week as he has forgotten where Moorabbin is.
Signed, Hanna's Mother.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Great fans potting our new recruit and a 3 x AA. A better record than any single player on our list.
Did the club create a cover story for Hanna's gastro?
Yes or No.
I STILL do not have a single straight answer. How humorous. About as weak as the Poms.

So anyway, Cho was on the radio this morning.
Stated that he was "as involved as anyone" in getting Hannebury to the club.

Re: Dan Hannebery gastro
Same as Carlisle. It's true coaches can help influence a player to come to the club. Clearly Dan was impressed by Alan, same as a heap of other players we got like Steele, Bruce, Membrey, Stevens, Brown, etc.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Tue 06 Aug 2019 10:51am So anyway, Cho was on the radio this morning.
