Gerard Healy said appalling F50 entry, bad forward set up, people popping up all over the place, uncoordinated. I watched a bit and I saw a mess, and then, just then, Parker running right into the space (maybe Members needed, and dropping mark.) Not dissing Parker, but if we really are a mess up forward we have to remember..
..Ratten was our forward coach from November last year. And then conclude, so we've got plenty of work to do in that department.

The irony here is that Newnes would have been. He would have kept him to a lot less and would have been rubbished by many for it.

Yep, next year only Bruce & King need to be in a pack if not leading. Membrey on a lead or a dummy lead. Every other forward needs to be on the ground. If Long or Parker contest in that pack with Bruce & King they get dropped.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:53pm Gerard Healy said appalling F50 entry, bad forward set up, people popping up all over the place, uncoordinated. Skrobalac must have also had gastro tonight and made a mess up forward.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:53pm Gerard Healy said appalling F50 entry, bad forward set up, people popping up all over the place, uncoordinated. As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

A courageous, tough kid, makes good decisions and has some mongrel in him (which we've not seen yet). We will get our moneys worth with him & Clark.saintkid wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:51pmHe did do well tonight and was very courageous in a few contests. Add Paton & Langlands to that generation, our recruiters did very very well.

I think it's ok for DMac to not be the smartest tool in the shed, but apparently Brandon White has to sit an IQ test at the start of each year before he's considered for seniors
Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 20 2019
Just back from the game. Crows are mediocre, barely a top 8 side, if that. Saints mediocre-er (sic). Crows were there for the taking and we failed.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 20 2019
The 3 biggest dissapointments tonight for me were bruce, billings and Gresham: they all did some good things but when the game was hottest and right up for grabs, they really didn’t step up, Bruce with 2 set shots, Gresham just kicking so poorly at the moment and billings missing targets at important moments, with the play in front of him. Very very dissapointing
There were plenty of other dissapointing moments tonight, but those guys just need to be better

Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 20 2019
Worth reflecting on the difference in experience of the two teams tonight.
Crows almost 3 years older and twice as experienced.
Almost half the St Kilda team (10 players) had played less than 50 games. I think this was probably a big factor in having so much sloppy play by the Saints.
Adelaide Attribute St Kilda

We'll get there. I like the way we are taking the game on under Ratts. Keep him.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:19pm We were good enough to beat Adelaide tonight, just better finishing needed.

Is that a "no comment" Duddits?
Like when John Kennedy Sen. was asked about the umpiring after they cost North Melbourne a game in the late '80s: "Usually I have no comment about the umpires. Tonight I have ABSOLUTELY no comment."

I wasn’t surprised or unhappy with how we went tonight. Ratts knows what he’s doing and it’s going to take time.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2019 12:20am Worth reflecting on the difference in experience of the two teams tonight.

Agree that the game could have been won. But, the team selection killed it. Needed more runners to break the lines.
Steven
Webster
Acres
would have run the ball out more. The ball movement was too slow allowing Adelaide to set up behind the ball.
Hoping for the three to come in next week.
