Not a pretty game, clearly a lot of errors. Seb was a cut above and Bruce was enormous.
Hunter was again superb, thought Paton was good.
Steele unbelievable defensively again

Re: Match Thread Saints & Demons Round 19 2019
A lot has changed.
But it's all stemmed from the following simple improvements:
1) We are trying to win the game from the outset. Not just 'stay in the game'.
2) Ratten has found suitable roles for most of them. They're being played to their strengths.

I disagree Ratts has changed the way we move it out of defence and he has definitely changed the way we go into the forward line no more long bombs into the goal square,

Would have won by 8 goals if it wasn’t for a number of really dumb errors.
Pleasing we kept coming back tho

THIS. Entry into the forward line is so much better and more similar to all the other teams now

All positive tonight. Everyone lifted agaan coffield was great then bad multiple times tonight but he is learning and getting better, a lot bwtter. Except for giving away a twelve point goal in last quarter it was awesome.

Absolutely!
That's the difference. We go inside 50 with the intent of scoring - not just keeping it in there.
Our marks inside 50 have skyrocketed, and no surprise that we're actually able to score now.

Seb just said again that Ratts hasn’t changed a huge amount besides “some strategy stuff”.
But they’re hardly going to slag off Richo are they

Great game. Thrashed them in general play.
Love Bruce, contest after contest, 2nd and third efforts.
So much enthusiasm between this side.

Yep. 29 scoring shots plus numerous instances of missing everything. 31 scoring shots last week. Previous best for the year pre-Ratten was 26 once and then mostly low 20’s. That’s a significant improvement. 25% more scoring shots under Ratten.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Sat 27 Jul 2019 11:19pmAbsolutely!

Yes let him learn. Only a baby at this level. Made some mistakes but in the game and getting the footy.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sat 27 Jul 2019 11:18pm All positive tonight. Marshall is a beast. Willed himself to compete against one of the best.axcellence wrote:Man love for Rowan Marshall
He played last few center bounces beautifully
Better than Gawn
Got smashed early, completed through the middle and, I believe, won the last quarter.
Takes serious mental toughness to do what Marshall did tonight.

Agree with all that. Gawn was all over him for a while there , but Rowan really lifted and was crucial at the end.

Marshall is so raw in the ruck, I think he was blindsided early with how much pushing and shoving you can get away with in the ruck.George27 wrote:Ape_Man wrote: ↑Sat 27 Jul 2019 11:44pmMarshall is a beast. He took it on board and really got physical with Gawn as the game went on.
The commentators could jack off enough to Gawn early. They said he rag dolled Marshall, which he did. But they didn’t acknowledge Marshall’s physical turn around in the second half.
Why couldn’t Gawn continue to rag doll him if he was so much stronger?
Because he isn’t and Marshall adjusted his strategy.
Can’t wait for their next meeting.

Agreewith you there Ape Man
Speaking of commentaters jacking off. They just went on and on about Jake Lever last night who basically played an average game in the backline and Membrey and Bruce played huge roles in us winning. Just had a look at Lever's stats and he had zero tackles. Pretty f'n easy to play bruise free footy.
Maybe we should bring in Brandon White and drop Savage against the Crows. They can jack off on White's intercept marking and his booming left foot.

Gawn had the points at half time but Marshall won the 2nd half for a break even IMO.
Loved the centre clearance when he shoved Gawn out of the contest and booted it 60.
Gawn took to hanging onto Marshall’s arm late to stop being shoved out of the contest.
Huge Marshall fan
