We have a great list. No one rates it as they font understand it.
Wait til Hill, King, Bytel, Steven Geary, Webster, and hanneberry are added next year.
Clark is going to be a gun.

Battle can move forward Bruce can ruck with Marshal.
We have such a great mix and they will all suddenly boom together. The speed of Hill, Hind, Parker, Langlands and the growth. We are going to be shocked at the top four finish in 2020, but we shouldnt be.

The problem with Long is he is supposed to be a small forward who gets front and centre to marking contests like Jack Lonie or better still Eddie Betts.
A problem is Long fancies himself as a Cyril Rioli.
He wants to take specky marks.
So he often ends up flying as 5th man in to marking contest with no hope of taking the mark, leaving his opponent front and centre to run the ball out.
I would not mind if he took marks like Lonie because he has tried to drag his opponent out of the contest but who refuses to follow.
Another problem with Long is he waves the ball from side to side as he comes in for a set shot.
When the ball drops in the wrong place he sprays the subsequent kick.

Maybe Long should be tried as the small defender whose job it is to suppress opposition small forwards.

Actually trading Long is a sensible strategy. Trading Short often results in losses unless you know a company intimately.

Yes and yes. Caused McCartin's concussion flying for a mark when he had no right to.

It has been touted that he may be traded to Essendon to get the young ruckman we are cahsing.

Let me guess, because his uncle played there?

He loves the Saints and has no interest in leaving is what I understand

Great that Ben was wearing the Saints logos at recovery session

I'd hate to lose Longy and like B.M said; "he loves the Saints"

We should be chasing a few others like Mabior Chol from the Tigers. Exciting young talent and if we snag him and we recruit Biggy Nyuon we'll have a couple of very mobile young rucks to complement Marshall

I agree with your sentiment SMS and I'm also bullish about our list. I disagree with Bruce rucking though. Perhaps the odd ruck contest in the forward pocket but we are a better side if Bruce doesn't have to ruck.

I'm not 100% sure about that Saynta. Sadly the crowd clapping too loudly can cause Paddy to become concussed.

Plenty didn't rate Long. Gone into hiding once again.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

I rate him, but overall would be disappointed by his year.
Was good tonight, though. Thats what he needs to keep doing.

Needs to get more into the play... dangerous though.

Def better prospect then Kent. Anyone that doesn’t think so doesn’t know football

He'd only played 14 games of seniors footy prior to this year. He might double his tally and still be under 30 games by the end of this year. I think he's tracking along beautifully. Lookout if Bruce Macavaney commentates one of our games next year and calls him 'scrumptious'

I thought he did a couple of nice things last night against the Dees can take a mark and is very much a confidence player.
More games under his belt and will be a consistent tributer around the goals.

Emphatic NO from me......he's inconsistent at this stage of his career but guys with mercurial talent don't grow on trees. Ask any Carlton supporter how happy they are that the club traded out Betts.

Yep 100%. I’d have him ahead of both Parker and Kent.

I think he needs some guideance. He seems like he has some of the qualities of other small forward aboriginal players
- Moments of brilliance. Goes missing for periods.

I dont say this in a degrotatory way at all. Look at some of the great aboriginal players that have played as a small forward
- Cyril Rilio
- Eddie Betts
- even Charlie Cameron (4 ckicks, 4 goals)
All turn the game with a couple of kicks. Even more importantly they make the defence jumpy and unsure. However all go missing for long periods in a game

Having the right players around them enables the X factor. At the moment either we dont have the right forward (eg big power full forward) or giving him the right instructions (eg get fromt and square).
He doesnt look like a running machine to me to be going through the centre (eg Michael Long, Winmar etc). Therefore lets test to see if he has the freakish skills of a Rioli / Betts etc

He is worth pursisting with for now
