"Clarity around his current situation will be gained at the conclusion of the home-and-away season".
In other words, this flog ain't got a clue.

Lol
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
If it did happen, what would be a fair trade?
Primary currency may have to a swap of players rather than picks as Geelong’s first rounder would be a late one. Unless they acquired a high first rounder and passed it on. High first rounder and good quality player - would that get it done?
Or not enough?

He is contracted and a required player.
Why should we give him to Geelong?

Let's hope those saying cut him loose don't have their vision clouded by his mental health problems ... a scourge of modern society and, in most cases, something you can recover from completely.

Hope I’m wrong but I’m fearful that he has made up his mind and will just use the balance of this season to maintain his fitness/skills

The longer Steven remains silent the more obvious it is that he wants to go. C'mon Jack come out and say you are not going anywhere.

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
Swap for Guthrie and a 2nd round pick probably 36-37
He will leave at end of 2020 anyway...

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
I imagine every single club is asking questions about some players that aren't free agents.
I know someone who two rental properties, he and his wife were checking house prices
in Townsville and Mackay, wondering if they could sell one house and buy one up there,
doing sums. Travel to Townsville would then be a tax deduction, and they go there every year to visit a daughter.
Asking questions doesn't mean anything would happen.

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
The timing of his return is beneficial to all parties, Jack, St Kilda and Geelong.
Has he lost anything, is he sound physically, emotionally and mentally to continue at AFL level.
St Kilda benefit on field and assessing him.
Geelong can make a sound, reasoned assessment if they do want him and whether he can deliver.
IF he is weighing things up would a third club, say with an interest in Kelly become involved. If Freo then perhaps a 3 way swap, including swapping first round picks to balance any perceived player ratings.

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
Or use him to get brad hill out of freo
Geelong - Kelly to Freo for Hill and their first pick
Hill to Saints for Steven and cats first pick
Geelong gets Steven and Freo first pick (5ish)
Freo gets Kelly
Saints get Hill and Geelong first pick (17-18)

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
Couldn't agree more. Jack Steven has got a minimum of 3 quality years and we are desperate for his level of skill. Hind has shown some polish when he has the ball, but that only happens 10 times a game. Steven wins his own football and is a genuine playmaker. And that's why Geelong are so keen. No deal!To the top wrote: ↑Thu 25 Jul 2019 4:53pm Required player.
To compare Steven to Hind is an absolute nonsense.

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
Parfitt and a pick in the 30's. Lots of upside for Brandan
Compare Parfitt's second year of footy with Jack's 3rd year (I chose 3rd year for Jack because Lyon wasn't giving many games to young blokes in 2010

Brandan is also good mates with Ben Long. Both from NT

Re: Cats still chasing Jack
I have the feeling that Jack will do a "BJ" and leave us....... I'd much prefer that we trade him for SOMETHING (draft pick /player(s) or BOTH!) rather than let him simply walk off as a free agent.
St Kilda forever ( God help me)
