Recruit of the Year: Wilkie vs. Hind
Two amazing success stories.
Wilkie obviously has played more games. In fact feels like he’s coming up to game 200. Guy is so cool under pressure.
Hind is dynamic with amazing pace. But add great foot skills and clearly a thinker.

Wilkie has been incredibly consistent. Great effort from a mature recruit. Great vision by whoever was responsible for selecting him.

Re: Recruit of the Year: Wilkie vs. Hind
I really love how Hind got those 3 goals a few weeks ago, he really backed himself and finished it off,
no nerves, no doubt, he must have had self belief because he was so composed. Has a bit of De Goey about him.
And today, nice little left foot chip over the top to Skunk, gave the defender no hope at all.
Something special.

Not as big a fan of Kent as the other 3. Looks to me like he’s already reached his ceiling

Re: Recruit of the Year: Wilkie vs. Hind
Wilkie so far is the best of the bunch.
However Wilkie was probably also playing at a higher level competition last year than the others.
Parker in particular lacks experience at a high level and so I am confident that he has a lot of improvement left in him.
With Langlands in this gives us quite a speedy team to take on the Dees who are not the quickest team going around.

Parker still gives away too many silly free kicks.
Maggot robbed him of a mark though.

Parker is a maniac on the field. You have no idea what he is going to do but you love it nonetheless.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Wilkie easily
Parker & Hind could be very very good given another couple of pre seasons & 30 to 40 matches each.

Re: Recruit of the Year: Wilkie vs. Hind
Wilkie is that player on your list whom, in their first game, looks like they've played 199 composed games before and then, in their 200th game 10 years later, you still don't really notice them on the park. But you sure as hell notice them when they're gone. Wilkie just does all of the basic things really well. He's been amazing when you consider no Roberton and no Carlisle for much of the season. Him and battle have both had to simultaneously defend and intercept - that's quite the achievement for two players who'd not played back at this level before this season.
I love Hind's dash and ability to kick effectively TO OUR PLAYERS' ADVANTAGE with both sides of his body (let's face it, other than Stuv - there's been no leg speed on our list since the ill-fated move to get Andrew Lovett) but Wilkie is a rock.

Wilkie has been an unbelievably good pick up.
An incredibly calm head, looks to have been in the system years and years rather than 17 games.

Wilkie by a massive stretch, possible next captain.
Have the courage to call out r ACE ism
Re: Recruit of the Year: Wilkie vs. Hind
Hind shouldn't even be in the conversation. 9 disposals a game. I like his speed and run but Wilkie has being unbelievable.

Wilkie took a contested mark 7 seconds into his AFL career and has looked at home ever since.
