The same as it says about the blues and roos playing groups I would imagine.

Re: The rest of the season
I'm no expert and have wondered the same about the roos and blues. I guess players need it kept simple. Seems like this is what these caretaker coaches do.

Re: The rest of the season
You can't say till the games have been played.
For example is game plan etc exactly the same. Or is how they played changed?

IMHO it would also say that like most other playing groups that lift considerably after having their coach replaced, that they know as a group they're under the microscope as part of the problem and are extremely keen to prove otherwise! Usually it becomes a great motivator because a fail to lift would put each and every one them next on the "easy to replace list" as well. The Fireman wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 3:29pmIt would say the playing group responds better to a better coach.

Yes, the buffer the coach provides is no longer there. Each player is exposed now. They have six weeks to show the next coach why they should be there in 2020.starsign wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 4:49pmIMHO it would also say that like most other playing groups that lift considerably after having their coach replaced, that they know as a group they're under the microscope as part of the problem and are extremely keen to prove otherwise! Re: The rest of the season
What if we do worse? What if Richo has us playing well above our capabilities? There’s a scary thought!

Re: The rest of the season
We should win every game now? Right??
The reason we were poor is gone, I expect us to win all 6

Re: The rest of the season
I reckon we showed signs in the first half against the Cats that we could finish strongly so was it going to happen anyway and the extra spike in energy that comes from a new coach will just help it along which will be helpful in getting a percentage boost if 12 wins on its own isnt enough.
Have the courage to call out r ACE ism

I’ve a feeling it may get worse before it gets better. But today will ultimately prove to be a step forward

Re: The rest of the season
Wasn't so much skill, we were 1 big forward short and they had Dangerfield. That was the only difference between the teams.

Re: The rest of the season
A fair rogering from the umps did not help much either.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Re: The rest of the season
I think at times we still weren’t clinical with ball movement and much of that is skill derived imoLinton Lodger wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 8:15pmWasn't so much skill, we were 1 big forward short and they had Dangerfield. That was the only difference between the teams.

Re: The rest of the season
We should beat the Blues at the G, which we would have done under Richo anyway (albeit in an ugly arm wrestle).
Now I think we are capable of beating the Dogs (new coach factor), Demons and Freo.
I think we WILL beat the Demons and Blues.
Which is 8 wins for the season as I foresaw in our more favourable draw this year.

Re: The rest of the season
I think the single biggest thing the caretaker coach can do strategically is play players in different positions/roles; hopefully getting a better output. Everyone had opinions about who is best in which spot, no just forum guys, coaches too. They showed a great stat on Curnow and Murphy under Bolton vs teague for centre bounces and it was so telling.

Re: The rest of the season
Ablett grabs Newnes near boundary line, knocks the ball free in half a second.
Any other game, that's a bloody throw-in.
But it's Son of G, against us, within range.
Free kick. Goal.
Disgraceful
