Effort was better, but still could only manage our lowest score of the season.
Effort schmeffort. Show me results.
Ha another who wants the world with a 3rd of our starting 22 out against the top team on their home turf :
Na....another who sees 8 goals against EVERYONE we play, someone who sees us beat GC by less than a goal (twice), whilst everyone else is up by 10+ goals at half time against them!!!
All I hear is excuses excuses. Show me results.
Our forward structure sucks due to our plethora of key injuries ..... you do understand this?
Its not an excuse just a very real situation that a very young squad is struggling to overcome

Thing is, we should have won this game tonight

Classic comedy
Top side
Their home deck
Their full starting 22
A third of our best starting 22 out
Thanks for the laughs!!
Typical f****** arrogant Geelong. They cruised to the finish line in second gear. Definitely not in the best of form but they have their superstars who put their hand up when required.
Had about 4 levels to lift anytime we challenged and the umps just made their job even easier. Not sure if playing the Saints is their ideal lead up to playing Hawthorn. Hopefully we've given them a few bumps and bruises and I'd love them to keep cruising in top spot and then just lose every single final

Jack Steven is the only major player that would make a small difference. Even then he is not the cream of the crop of midfielders. Roberton good ordinary player. McCartin a never has been and would have been a bust regardless of his concussion issues.
Who else effects the structure?
How about setting up a structure that can kick goals. If it’s 22 to 12-15 as a result then so be it.
Kicking 8 goals (2 in nearly 3 quarters again tonight) every week is junk save my arse stuff from Richo and thus no development in players as that style does nothing to enhance learning.
One of the biggest issues is amount of players who can’t defend one on one. Why?

Clearly your taking the piss. Roberton Geary Webster all straight in. Roberton is our Tom Stewart.
Luke Darcy, nice guy as usual, mentioned that "St Kilda lose no friends tonight", and he always made Richo look dignified in his comments. As for Geelong he said, "the Cats will move on from this game pretty quickly I should think" . I think that sums up our image within the ranks for the last six years. Nice fellas, try hard.
sed forti minimis, said Fred
A few posters in this thread really being shown up with regard to understanding the importance of injuries and structure and also amazingly not even knowing our best 22

Lol our Tom Stewart...oh boy...now that’s a pisstake!
No wonder we are 4th last with inflated opinions of certain players. He is a poor mans Dempster, but still a better option than currently in the side and would definitely be in the team if fit.

Battle. Austin (or Clav). White
Roberton. Carlisle. Coffield
Clark. Acres. Hannebery
Membrey. McCartin. Billings
Gresham. Bruce. Good question
Marshall. Steele. Steven
King. Dunstan Bytel. Draft Pick 1
Of those 12 played tonight
Hopefully Round 1 in 2020 will look something like this (fingers and toes crossed)
IF we can pick up a class mid with dash then Jack to a forward pocket
If cloning technology was available, this would be Richos wet dream:

jeez you've gone into overdrive trying to justify your poor assertion
did you watch the first and and second quarters
we should have won the f****** thing
any other club would have
Well 7 sides have tried to beat them this year at home and 6 have failed
how many were as competitive as we were tonight?
that elusive extra 1/3 wouldnt have accounted for anything and most probably wouldve got the thumping we were so desperately worried about tonight
I'm just a little over the "what if's', "Maybe's" and "imaginings" of the perfect scenario - doesnt help us one bit
we had our chance tonight and we blew it

We need to recruit some players with mongrel. Our players a too nice. They do not induce any fear in the opposition. Our opponents do not have to think twice about who is around them. We have some of the nicest guys running around the AFL.
I can't even nominate anybody that i van think of that can be considered as having some mongrel. Can anyone help with a name?
No we need a coach with mongrel, not one that panders to them and tells them their efforts we’re pleasing

Too many players that cant tackle, that wait for the opposition to go for the ball, too much bruise free footy. Effort was good in the 2nd and that was it.
Probably only a handful of players that would off the trade table. We just lack hardness more than anything. Lots of blokes scared to get hurt
We had 85 tackles
They seem to intentionally hold back from going for the ball, then lay a tackle. I think they must be taught to do this. Remember Steele last week? He lined up behind cunnington and just tackled him when he got the ball. Watch how easily cats players walked through tackles in general play.
We’ve been doing it all year, it’s like we are scared to get the bloody football.
Why do people i9nclude Roberton and McCartin in our best 22. Roberton has had two heart related incidents on the field, he will never play again unless you want to risk him dropping dead on the field due to his heart condition.
McCartin 1) has never established himself in our best 22 and 2) 8 concussions and you just have to touch his head to give him another one. He will never play again and that will be for his own good because if already hasn't, there's a fair chance he will already have brain issues later in life.
For either of these guys, it isn't worth the chance of playing them again.
Plus I don't include Hannebury because he has played 2 games for us, the only team that would be missing his influence at this stage would be the Swans. Tonight we really missed 3 players, Jack Steven, Battle and Geary.

I thought the complaint from geary about/to richo was that he never told them what was pleasing only what they were doing wrong.

It’s because there on our list. We planned to have them and now we don’t. If we knew this time last year we wouldn’t we could have traded in someone to play those roles.
I must say that i have loved reading these game feeds while trying to watch the game laughing at some of the funny banter and occasionally putting in my two cents worth , but it’s over ....why ......ffs this constant crap about frees for or against....get the f*** over it curly you are not now or ever change what is happening or going to happen in the future. You have killed this pleasant game day forum.
