Moral victory at half time, great team effort. Well done.

Great first half Saints, backed up by good umpiring.
Let’s hope we come out in the third and keep it up, as we haven’t been able to do that lately

Scoreboard victory as well - mostly due to Marshall and Dunstan.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:34pm Moral victory at half time, great team effort. Well done.

Yes it seems so. Clark has made the step up, but Nick clearly is still finding the pace a bit hot. Hopefully it will come over time .. preferably before the end of this game !

Mate seems to me that all you've been doing in this thread is pursuing an agenda to the extent that a free that was clearly not paid is something you'd rather debate than move on and let it go - Lonie was taken high and it wasn't paid - some of us move on

Yep, it was a weak tackle and lucky free. In fact this would be the best run we have had from the umps this yearThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:11pmExactly. If it was warranted it would be fine, but spamming the thread about non existent bad calls is pathetic.
I believe spamming is against the rules, but the mod lets it go on week after week.
The dodgiest decision of the first quarter was the Long free and goal, but heard crickets from him about that

Doing well, which I am happy to see.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:34pm Moral victory at half time, great team effort. Well done.
But, the same problems as last week, ie the fittest team in the Comp (supposedly) is losing all the second halves of each quarter. Cats can adjust for that, or continue this strange game they are playing.

He does okay with a bit of space, but complete lack of awareness and gets run down from behind. Just needs games I hope

Totally Disagree.B.M wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:02pm I’d seriously like to know the thinking behind McKenzie playing Forward?
0 possessions, never played there, doesn’t know what he’s doing?!
May as well have a natural forward (Parker or Young)
Even Rice who has Forward craft and strong hands
If McKenzie can’t get a gig as a defender he should be at Sandy
At the very least, it's worth a try.
He's excellent overhead, and won't cause too much hurt when he turns it over.
The season is over. The only thing we have, is tje opportunity to see what guys are capable of.
I'd be appalled if the club is still playing for short term gains.

Marshall has kicked 7 goals this season
That's more than longer in his entire career

Move on? We shouldn’t even be talking about the umpiring in the first place, it’s pointless.HardSaint wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:36pmMate seems to me that all you've been doing in this thread is pursuing an agenda to the extent that a free that was clearly not paid is something you'd rather debate than move on and let it go - Lonie was taken high and it wasn't paid - some of us move on

And I’m happy to back the ump 5 meters away then an obscured camera 150m away, Lonie is well known to play for frees, I’d like to see a replay before claiming it was 100% there.
Ask the Geelong crowd what they think of the umpiring, bet they aren’t happy
We should stick to talking about the Saints, the umps make mistake, big deal, swings and roundabouts.

Re: Match/Torch Thread Saints v Cats Round 17 2019
Are you saying Dud that because Lonie plays for frees
Like a lot of players
That the umpires deliberately don’t give him frees even if they are there.
That shouldn’t come into it!
If the kicks there, pay it, doesn’t matter who it is or what’s come before it. Just pay what is there!

Re: Match/Torch Thread Saints v Cats Round 17 2019
Unexpected Saints. Great first half effort.
Lacking some class by foot but we seem to have really good structure.
Some decent work by the coach so far. The work out of defence is similar to the start of the year.
I think Acres is tagging Stewart. He’s not cutting off like he normally does allowing Bruce clear runs at the ball. Hope Bruce is back and continues his form.

No, I’m saying just because he threw his head back doesn’t necessarily mean it was high, as he is known to play for frees.B.M wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jul 2019 9:42pm Are you saying Dud that because Lonie plays for frees

I think at this point Longer’s name doesn’t need to be mentioned around here ever again!

Frees 12 to cats & 9 to Saints
