We need to get StPeter's stats confirmed.
If true then we should definitely raise it with the AFL.
But of course we won't.

Anyone can just observe a replay of any of his games involving us to see what I am talking about.
From memory there has only been one game which could be considered a balanced and fair display over the past six or seven years.

Re: Umpire number 2 Nick Foot
Problem is at the ground I generally don't notice who the umpire is as they generally look the same (though I did notice that lady umpire that paid all the frees to the Eagle forwards).
And if you watch the replay the umpire paying the free is often out of shot.

You are welcome to have your opinions and thoughts. And you are welcome to continue to play your little game where you stir up passionate fans by saying they are delusional when they think umpires or media are unfair.The_Dud wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 12:04amInteresting to note, when journos say things we want to hear they are reputable and have integrity, but when they say things we don’t like (Barrett about Hannerbry for example) they are part of the scum AFL media who have no ethics and invent stories from nowhere.BackFromUSA wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 11:20pmTJ wouldn’t risk his reputation as a journalist reporting the news to make that up. Here are the facts that lead me to my conclusion and opinion.
I dealt with journalists for 20 years on a professional level. I worked at a level that had me (and my staff) representing all the major sports, entertainment and lifestyle brands in Australia. That includes consulting to the AFL for 4 of those 20 years. It is a decade since I got out of that game.
I had dealings with TJ for 10 to 15 years.
TJ isn’t a journalist with a history of sensationalism.
The fact that he came out with that info was a huge risk for him and to his reputation. He would have known the backlash he was going to get (and got) from AFL HQ.
It was actually a bad move for him to come forward.
He came forward because it was the right thing to do.
And TJ is not a Saints fan and is certainly not delusional.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

Slow down, no need to get snippy, I didn’t say TJs story was true or not, just pointing out how posters like to flip-flop on who is credible depending on the news being delivered.BackFromUSA wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 1:12amYou are welcome to have your opinions and thoughts. Also, posters on here seem to genuinely think there is an AFL backed conspiracy against St Kilda to intermittently umpire badly against us in games, for... I’m still not sure what exact reason. And I’m the one “playing games” and “stirring”?! Yeah ok then. I would say I’m more “holding up a mirror”.
In my job I have to deal with people daily who, despite having no actual knowledge about the subject or the inner workings going on, feel they have the right to publicly make ridiculously false claims and call in to question the integrity of numerous professional and hard working people purely because they didn’t like an outcome or decision made. And the best bit is they can’t be properly called out for the rubbish they spew because the people who they attack have professional standards they have to maintain.
Maybe posters should extend the same respect you have for TJ’s integrity in his profession to the umpires who are also professionals doing their job (an extremely difficult job NO ONE on here has any relevant experience doing) to the best of their ability.

Re: Umpire number 2 Nick Foot
Dudley, it's a proven and irrefutable fact that struggling teams get a bum wrap with the umpires. That's not a conspiracy but it is our current reality.
Folk on here are just venting because they're not allowed to vent anymore at the football because feelings might get hurt. It's just letting off a bit of steam and it's harmless. Not sure why you need to continually get your knickers in a knot about it.

I agree TJ would have been correct and that dud was not suggesting TJ was not.
Dud is correct that journalists on this site are rated by how positively or negatively they write about the Saints.
A negative article even if justified is written by a hack with no credibility and a positive article is written by the one good objective journo out there.
Same with umpiring, as BFUSA rightfully points out the dud stirs up the umpire bashers but surely it is obvious that our chief umpire loather is taking the piss on a weekly basis.

Firstly, “proven and irrefutable fact”? Link please.SaintPav wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 8:59am Dudley, it's a proven and irrefutable fact that struggling teams get a bum wrap with the umpires. That's not a conspiracy but it is our current reality.

Secondly, if the above is true, saying less skilled teams generally make more mistakes therefore giving away more free kicks sounds perfectly reasonable to me, no sign of a conspiracy.
Thirdly, folks are allowed to vent at the football. And the poster who spams the match thread purely about umpiring every week is not at the game.
Fourthly, there’s a difference between “letting off a bit of steam” and having numerous threads dedicated to absurd conspiracies that attack the character of umpires and implies they are the reason we are losing games and not reasons under the St Kilda FC control. And I’m also allowed to point out how ridiculous they’re being.
And finally, I don’t think my knickers have ever been knotted?
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Plain and simple different teams get umpired differently. You watch a Collingwood game then watch ours and compare interpretations of the rules for there players and ours. Watch a EAGLES game and try and work out what we do wrong.

I don't know the reasons that the saints get a s*** deal from your so called professionals but it has been going on for years.
At the weekend you only had to look at the illegal treatment handed out to Membray and Bruce and then contrast that with the tiggy touch wood frees given to the Roos by a so called professional, who I will publicly label either biased or a cheat, to know something stinks in AFL land.
You don't even have the guts to acknowledge that the whispers in the sky really happened, nor that Milne and Sneider were robbed of legitimate free kicks for most of their careers.
I pity the poor bastards that you have to dealings with in your role of a janitor, And for the record I have no respect for your opinions on the umpiring fraternity as you are clearly biased towards them.

Free speech again? (Next you’ll be telling me about your right to bear arms). Free speech is not speech free from consequences. If you say dumb stuff be prepared for someone to call you on it.
I only referenced my work to emphasise my position in response to BFTUSA doing the same thing first to explain his position.
And believe me, if my workplace was any more transparent it would be declared a safety hazard.

You got that right. You say dumb stuff all the time.
Pot kettle black.
Exhibit one your Honour. Leigh Fisher.
Right to bear arms. f*** me, this isn't the good ol' US of A and thank god for that.
Your losing it dudley, big time.
Anyway, I think that the frees for and against stats for the past 12 years provide ample proof of pav's claim.

There's no link and I don't need to prove anything. I said we generally get a bum wrap with the umpires. That's it. You're welcome to disprove it, but I really don't care.
I did not use the word "conspiracy"? (possibly the most misused and misunderstood word in the lingua franca).
Finally, your work is irrelevant to AFL umpiring, though, just like your posting style, it just sounds to me that you and your employer think that you are above public criticism. That doesn't sound very transparent and accountable to me, more like hubris and exceptionalism. I just hope they aren't abusing their power because I don't reckon self-reflection is one of your key strengths, Dudley.
The old actions have consequences faulty argument. Oooh, I'm so scared.
Dudley's been triggered. Someone call a wambulance!!
NEWS FLASH: Venting about umpiring is not considered hate speech!
Gun control!? Now that's a good one, but it's irrelevant.
The Dudley doth protest too much about their purpose, methinks. It sounds like you're rationalising, which means that your workplace is opaque and corrupt.

I’m calling bulls*** on these stats. As well as those on Leigh Fisher.StPeter wrote: ↑Sun 07 Jul 2019 7:03pm The final tally for Foot was 12 to North and 0 StKilda. (+4 goals)

It is not only the ones he gives against us but the several he refuses to give to the saints and it is this way EVERY time he umpires our matches.
I tried to check out our frees and it is very difficult to work out who is paying frees as half the time the umpire is off screen and you would have to know the umpire’s voice.
But at 18:00 minutes to go in the second quarter, umpire number 2 clearly pays holding the ball to Newnes. So any suggestion that he paid 0 free kicks to us is clearly false.

You get gifted 7 goals in a game you win it's simple. If Collingwood got reamed like us they would have lost by 20 goals.

Gee whiz, you old fellas have really gone off the deep end! Folk on here are just venting because they're not allowed to vent anymore at the football because feelings might get hurt. It's just letting off a bit of steam and it's harmless. Not sure why you need to continually get your knickers in a knot about it.

If you didn’t understand the US references, that’s ok, I’ll be sure to make them more obvious in future
Love how after wiping the egg off your face over your "proven and irrefutable fact" where you don't actually have any proof or facts, you try to recover by goading me with a very juvenile and lazy 'wambulance' dig. But when i look a bit closer...
Sorry, so who was triggered again? I guess people are so easily offended these days...

I accept that my stats for the North and Suns game could be out by one or two either way but the premise of my posts is still correct. Even the official AFL stats can be incorrect by a small margin on many occasions.
I challenge you to take out your own stats of these two matches and you will see how close I am. In fact take out stats on just about any St KIlda match that Nick Foot has umpired over the past seven years and you will find the evidence overwhelming.

I’m with Kossi here, an umpire has gone 20 zip against us and nothing has been said by the club and the guy retains his job.StPeter wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 7:02pmkosifantutti wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 5:05pmI’m calling bulls*** on these stats. Further more St Peter, I believe the onus of proof belongs to the person making the claim. Making a baseless claim that is almost impossible to prove correct or incorrect then challenging others to prove you wrong is very Donald like.
IMO you have noticed an umpire who appears to give us a dud run and have made up some stats to attempt to prove your theory.
I challenge you to prove me wrong.
