It is actually the closest you get to the good fashioned home ground. Unfortunately we’re playing away so expect a firm rodgering. Been there twice and both times lost by over 100 points from memory.

Round 10 1999, under Timmy Watson.
Saints defeated Cats by 10 points at K Park, despite being 19 points down at 3/4 time.

But it was long ago in a galaxy far far away.

They played the Swans song when we ran out onto the ground last time I was there.

What a collapse from there! Within twelve months he knew it was all over.
He also said that we 'couldn't beat the Dimboola Thirds'

haha...hahaha
the only thing that would even up the competition would be a category 5 cyclone and the game called off.

It was good in the 90s down there - It was the last ground you could buy cans of beer at - and we won there at least twice and nearly beat them a third time when Matty Lappin missed a shot which would have won the game for us - from the top of the goal square!

Sheesh - I never knew about that 1899 debacle. Quite the pasting! Still - on the upside - we managed to better the 186 pt loss than Melbourne copped 112 years later.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Mon 08 Jul 2019 11:32pm Best memory was when that animal Hocking (Whiskas, not Shocking) had a go at Harves and we rallied for a great win.
But mostly it has been misery down there.
Spider kicked 9 down there near the end of his StK career but we still lost.
Thank heavens we aren't old enough to have experienced the old Corio Oval which was an even more miserable venue.
Our loss there in 1899 still haunts this club and clearly remains the most embarassing performance ever by any team in VFL/AFL history.
This week has an eery feeling to it like the Dees game
