Re: Brad Scott to be announced as Saints coach in August
Not sure, apparently a connection through the Ammos?
Don’t know if Scott ever played Ammos though, he went to school at St Kevins and was recruited as an 18yo to Hawthorn.
Simon Lethlean played with and coached Old Xavs in the 90s/00s
Not sure the connection?

Re: Brad Scott to be announced as Saints coach in August
Lethlean has already brought old mates, Gubby, Gallagher & Hanneberry (friend with his old man) to the club. He has a track record of nepotism & making appointments for the boys. He is great mates with Scott, both are part of the Old Xavs network which has a massive influence across clubs & the AFL in its entirety. It’s no coincidence that Scott fell on his sword at North, he had something else lined up.Crossy66 wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 7:40pmOut of curiosity, why is it clear lethlean wants scott?Myron Gaines wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 7:20pm A bit of noice around that Carlton are looking at Roos as DoC & Voss as head coach.
We know North want Horse. Shaw their fall back.
It’s very clear that Lethlean wants Scott but I think the combined efforts of Riewoldt & Bassett will ensure the club appoints someone appropriate & deserving. If that’s Scott so be it.
By the way, Robbo on 360 just said Roos & Voss to Blues.

Has Scott ever had a connection with Old Xavs? If so, how?

'A friend of mine'?
You make Damian Barrett look good.
Even giving '3 weeks' as a spicy condiment.
You are a stirrer.
Keep on inventing rumours.
You know nothing.
For what it's worth, I'll be backing WHOEVER gets the Senior Coaching gig...... it's all about the St.Kilda Footy CLUB! I'm prepared to put aside past events between Scott and our club, and give him a chance.... IF he gets the job.
I admit I went a bit early and posted before I got further info from my friend - an actual person I do know - not Barrett or some rando.
His info is from a workmate of his who has info from inside the club.
So being a “friend of a friend” is not water-tight enough for my liking - so I’d give this a 30 to 50% credibility call so to speak.
Legendary talks about processes and arse covering - which makes sense - except for the fact we are such a basket case I think you just have your list and go with that. The big curveball in all this is Fagan. He didn’t have senior experience BUT is an older/wiser head.
Judd has said Carlton want someone experienced not an assistant. I firmly believe that’s where we sit also.
Time will tell.

Clever.
First it was from a friend and I will find out his sources
- 2 levels of separation
Now
friend has a workmate who has info from inside the club
-an extra layer, now 3 levels of separation.
Club insider- to person X- to workmate- to person x- who is friend of OP
It's how the Daily Mail, New Idea and others operate.
hahahahahaha

Got hannebury to come when no one would, gubby is a bit of an afl mr fix it more so than a mate of SL and I dont know about the other blokeMyron Gaines wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 8:50pmLethlean has already brought old mates, Gubby, Gallagher & Hanneberry (friend with his old man) to the club. I'm loving this secret old Xavs sect conspiracy though. Do they have secret handshakes and all?

Don't about 90% of all AFL people come from one of the elite private schools?

Bit of a long bow.. you haven't got me reaching for the tin foil hat just yetMyron Gaines wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 9:48pmWhatever you like.
Perhaps start looking for our GM.
Then Michael O'Shaughnessy, pretty sure his son is employed by our club.
Then look for relatives of Dan Hannebery.
Maybe even Brad Scott’s wife’s family member, Ockleshaw.
But nothing to see here.

Oh dear, I meant Simon.Crossy66 wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 5:50pmAndy Goodwin must have been moved on.... that explains why he is plumbing in the Yarra Valley.Linton Lodger wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 4:33pmI think Voss will take a Senior gig. The situation at Port is interesting. At the moment we have Carlton & North competing with us for new Coaches. Hopefully North stick with Shaw, so its only Carlton. The word in regard to Carlton, is that they're looking at Roos as a Director of sorts overlooking a young Coach, perhaps Teague.Sainter_Boy wrote: ↑Tue 09 Jul 2019 1:32pm Don't quote me on this and you might not even believe me as I'm not a reputable 'ITK' but I have heard we are going to reassess around round 20 and if port Adelaide is not in finals contention make a play at Michael Voss as the "inner sanctum members" are interested in his skill set however that interest might not be 2 way and he may wish to stay in an assistant coaching role.
Worsfold has been under pressure but if Essendon's current form continues, he's safe. I think Hinkley is gone if Port don't play Finals or even win one. We don't need Essendon & Port looking for a new Coach as well. So hopefully Port make Finals and go well. I don't know how on earth Andy Goodwin is safe at Melbourne???

Better get it out of your system now, because in a few months you won’t be able to speak ill of the new coach on here!

Is Lethlean the only Xavier Boy at the Club?
Bugger that, we need to get some St Bedes boys in. Keep those Xavier pussies honest.

Why would we get voss for. He is an average coach at best. Pkus didn't Richo come from Port. Surely we have learnt our lesson.
In a perfect world I'd make a grandfather offer to roos. Yes he coaches defensively but he gets results. Turned Melbourne around when they were awful so he can di it to us as wrll

Lade is from Port
He went their the year after they finished in the 8 and was there when they missed the finals, now he’s left there back in the 8
I think you’ll find a similar trend at Richmond.
Maybe a coincidence but slow ball movement follows him.

Lade's role predominantly is setups at stoppages.
They setup defensively due to losing hitouts. Not sure whether that's his idea, or Cho's.
But Lade coaches the mids with their stoppages.
I don't know whether ball movement has anything to with him.

Ball movement/transition is Rats remit, along with the forward line.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jul 2019 9:31pmLade's role predominantly is setups at stoppages.

Re: Brad Scott to be announced as Saints coach in August
I was under 5he impression they went away from the ball movement and transition when they got rid of Kingsley. And Alan Richardson focussed on that in his position of Head Coach when coming up with the game plan (in conjunction with all coaches) they would also have together worked out how they wanted to coach each line. With Richo having final say, but each line coach would have brought in their ideas for the role.
So my impression is they went with the traditional set up
Backs: Playfair
Mids: Lade
Forwards: Ratten
Dev: Batchelor, Hamill, McGlynn
Specialist: Dixon (goal kicking), Slater (Leadership), Skrobalak (ruck) Brereton (Key Forwards)
Director of Coaching: Sexton
Women’s: Searle
