I was hoping to do the farewell by round 5... Oh well, round 17 it is then (after the cats game)

Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
Tigers almost doubled their score in one quarter. We spent more time in the lead than not, but lost by over 6 goals. Pretty hard to defend that sort of result when you're the coach IMO. Not the 10+ goal defeat a lot of people expected, but very disappointing.

I don't think it was lack of belief, it was a lack of system. Again.

Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
This season :
8 goals x 1 time
9 goals x 3
10 goals x 7
11 goals x 1
13 goals x 1
15 goals x 1
In 12 games - 11 goals or less
It’s not working is it. Going to win sfa games with 11 goals.

Leadership or lack of it = lack of confidence + inconsistency
Richardson is not a leader’s shirt tail.

Time for the board to grow some balls, admit they got it wrong with AR and move him on. Otherwise it's time to move the board on. This can't continue. We are going to end up like Melbourne or Carlton and be lost in the wilderness for years to come otherwise, as the losses are becoming systemic. Its destroying the players.

Overall we were better than last weekend. Accuracy plummeted in second half and it showed. Another nail in richos coffin

I have a man crush on Marshall, can't wait to see him play under another coach.

Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
We held on to the ball well, passing it around, mixing the tempo but we just didn't have the radar. Not looking, missing opportunities, kicking (not-miskicking) to bad situations. I get what they are trying, but Richmond just clogged up their options and just waited for the pressure to build.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Seems clear that Richardson’s contract is what’s governing the decision making process.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:48pm Time for the board to grow some balls, admit they got it wrong with AR and move him on. Reason he wasn’t sacked at the end of last year was the $650,000 payout we’d have had to make.
Reason he hasn’t been sacked this year is that whilst we are still a mathematical possibility to make finals, he is still technically able to deliver on the clause that says he has to win a final to carry on next year. Likely financial arse covering exercise in progress is that we wait until it’s certain we can’t make finals - maybe then they will act - or maybe wait until year’s end.
Either way, this farce appears to be drawing to a close.

Since round 5 when we were 4 - 1 we are the third worst performed team after Gold Coast and Carlton. Nothing’s really changed from last year.

Finnis needs to be sacked for costing us a year’s worth of developmentst.byron wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:54pmSeems clear that Richardson’s contract is what’s governing the decision making process.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:48pm Time for the board to grow some balls, admit they got it wrong with AR and move him on. Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
I reckon our best chance of making the finals is to actually get rid of him now! I couldn't care less about the finals regardless, I only wanted to see the team playing like a team and improving...9th/10th/11th and endevour would have kept most of us happy, but we're likely to get none of the above instead.st.byron wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:54pmSeems clear that Richardson’s contract is what’s governing the decision making process.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:48pm Time for the board to grow some balls, admit they got it wrong with AR and move him on. Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
Completely agree with you. I reckon head office has its fingers in the pie. 12 mil in debt and having to make a $650,000 payout = not happy Jan at head office. Sooooooo....we have to wait.degruch wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 5:00pmI reckon our best chance of making the finals is to actually get rid of him now! Meanwhile - look at the clubs in the top 8. Apart from Collingwood - all of them are one or two team towns with lucrative stadium set-ups, multitudes of members and heaps of cash. And the Marvel / Etihad crew - Carlton, Dogs, North, Us - floating around in the bottom half.
Have to wonder if nine Melbourne teams are sustainable. If not, we are in the gun.

Is there a seperate rule book for Dusty?
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Stopping, propping, going sideways, backwards and bombing the ball long cost us the game. Richmond took the game on and created chances.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 4:54pm We held on to the ball well, passing it around, mixing the tempo but we just didn't have the radar.
