It’s a boys club
Our admin is absolutely diabolical and nothing but a boys club. This isn’t something that’s just isolated to St Kilda but we are only getting worse, as teams attempt to diversify and move away from this model.
Don’t believe? Here is ‘allegedly’ the ‘potential’ Conflicts
Lethlean - hire by a CEO at the tit of the Afl CEO, willing to do anything to appease the all powerful one. Through the scandal that rocked football Gil ‘owed’ Simon one.
Gallagher - Accountant, shock hire as a list manager for such a position... nah good mates with Simon. Very good mates.
King recruited - Our Head recruiter wanted Rozee, no? Absolutely he did. Simon overruled him..
Hannas - Simon’s good mates with his dad from Xavs
Brad Scott - absolute shoe in for coach.. why? Good mates with Simon.. signed sealed sainter.. bookmark it
When the inevitable old mate Gil gives Simon back his job at HQ when it all cools off, we will be left to pick up the pieces.. so disappointing

Re: It’s a boys club
The whole competition is a boys club...players included.
It’s almost impossible to get drafted unless you attend an independent school.
The afl use independent schools as a recruiting mechanism, they are effectively the cookie cutter that is producing the modern day footballer.
The boys club at work again, but that’s life isn’t it?

AFL is a connected industry. Every major sport is. People go from club to club all the time and there are links everywhere. It's just how it is. Every club is the same.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Spot on Leo, how else would have Eddie Maguire survived so many gaffe’s and major ones at that. They all look after each other.King12 wrote: ↑Thu 27 Jun 2019 10:06amExactly correct, anyone who thinks anything else is a fool!Leo.J wrote: ↑Thu 27 Jun 2019 9:34am The whole competition is a boys club...players included.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Re: It’s a boys club
Headline today that it's jobs for the boys for recently retired Liberal party minister Christopher Pyne. He was Defense minister literally weeks ago. When it doesn't pass the pub test it is just another example of pigs at the trough imo.
Apparently he won't be lobbying governemnt departments directly but no doubt Pyne and Ernst and Young could potentially use his inside knowledge of defense planning and defense budgets to the detriment of taxpayers.

Re: It’s a boys club
Brad Scott, if that happens, will be the sealer.
After years of misery Saints fans are looking for some good news, a coach we can rally around.
Brad Scott ain't it.
So if that happens the disconnect between the fans and the administration will be complete.
And the sense that our club is being used as a holiday-let by a buck's party will be intense.

Our jumper is red white and black, these are facts too. Id like to conjurer up some sinister conspiracy theory about how these colors came together to somehow be a negative thing but this is just how colors come together in the sport.
You are just regurgitating white noise from the echo chamber of childish social media ramblings.
Have the courage to call out r ACE ism

Geez you’re one of those fans who is absolutely happy with mediocrity aren’t you?
Our club is run like an amateur club and you’re pretty content with it. These aren’t ramblings, if you fact check all of these, it’s correct. Watch when Scott is announced

Re: It’s a boys club
I think it's just a reality of business. The Afl in reality own the clubs, the saints have got themselves into strife on and off field, so the afl, get involved and put their stamp by encouraging the board to install a couple of AFL people into key roles.
They turn to people they know and trust to help them sort it out. Pretty normal.
Have a look at the afl' influence with melbourne? From minimal tanking penalties, james frawley compo, paul roos, peter jackson etc etc.
Having the afl in our corner is a good thing, (unless of course they are planning on sending us to Tassie)

Re: It’s a boys club
Are you saying that Lethlean is picking his friends as favours to them, even though they aren't qualified and/or suitable for these roles? Are you saying that he is making decisions for his own personal gain, rather than what's best for the club?mightysainters wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 10:19am Geez you’re one of those fans who is absolutely happy with mediocrity aren’t you?

Doesn't seem at all clear to me. Seems incredibly speculative at best.mightysainters wrote: ↑Mon 01 Jul 2019 9:26pmYou can make your own conclusions... pretty clear to meBarryGrogan wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 10:52amAre you saying that Lethlean is picking his friends as favours to them, even though they aren't qualified and/or suitable for these roles? Once sure to someone who clearly knows nothing about the clubs inner workings, this would sound speculative. Unfortunately for me, I do know..

Re: It’s a boys club
Here comes the Scott appointment, clearly Richo is on a performance improvement plan with Lethlean in the box, like Bolts was with walls in box.
Announcement coming this week or next that Richo is gone. They will then start their ‘recruitment process’ aka bide time for a few weeks and then announce Scott.

Re: It’s a boys club
So why don't boys club members Roo, Joey, and Dal use their influence to get the club to fly right. They wouldn't have media jobs if they didn't know what's happening internally and they still have some juice. I think its an almighty stuff up of incompetents not a conspiracy. If management really want Scott all we can be confident of is that it won't happen. Hopefully the club will just stumble across a half decent coach. And pick three this year is a champion mid - even if he is chosen as a half back. And CEO wins lotto and resigns to spend more time with his family.

Re: It’s a boys club
I care nothing about a 'boys club'....
I only care about competence....and this Board & Management has shown FA over 8 years....
If anything Leathean maybe the best of a bad bunch....

Re: It’s a boys club
Roo, Dal and Monty want a media gig not a spot at our rabble of a clubs administration.. they want longevity in their career. St Kilda admin would be the worst career move they can make.
