And I also called it last week that Jake & Josh who I I will refered to as J squared from here on in, or J2.
J2 are going to be our force in the backline for the future, they are both awesome interceptors and attacking defenders. They give us uber flexibility in that setup. Can even sneak forward for a drive by goal.
"who I I will refered to as J squared from here on in, or J2" is longer than "Jake and Josh" so either you seriously cut your message because it makes no sense to define a term and use it once - lol
I was refering to the next 2 years as I will be constantly reminding you I called it first and I want a funky, concise and easy to remember term to describe our uber flexible utilities team within a team.

In more positive news, isn't it brilliant that Steele is back!? Missed him enormously and I'm quite excited at the idea of a Steele, Hannaz, Ross, Gresh midfield.
Also, FWIW, with Kent going out I reckon Newnes could be sent to the forward line where he did quite well last year (providing he's in the final 22 obviously) and Benny Long is sent to HB as this is where he played last week for Sandy. Could be a good move and would get him involved in the game more I reckon.
I'm excited "at the idea of a Steele, Hannaz, Ross, Gresh midfield" ... except for the Ross bit. I think he's a diabolical midfielder. Poor decision maker, slow, ridiculously one-sided, no aggression and a horrible kick.
Anyone wonder why Ross is allowed to be such an accumulator? He's never tagged. Why? Because the opposition would want him to have the ball over anyone of our other mids as they know what will happen when ball is in his hand. They can set up play knowing it will be either a long bomb or a turnover disposal. Its the same for Geary. They'd prefer him trying to get it out of our D50 than a Webster or Savage as its more likely to result in a turnover. Ross needs to be given strict instructions to.handball to outside runners at any opportunity. This would change his effect in the team significantly.
Good post. All true. The opposition started isolating Geary last year and letting him get it deep in defence.
As for this year - Jack Steven not being in the team shows exactly what level Seb Ross is really at. Jack S is our only outside runner (still) and made a lot of the inside work look good. Now that Ross and Dunstan (and to a lesser extent, Steele) have to dispose of it themselves ... we are where we are ...

I see that Brandon White has been selected for Sandringham. So effectively dropped from the Gold Coast game.
Just unbelievable!
That is actually astonishing.
Sam Rowe selected ahead of Brandon White. Just think about that for a moment. Extraordinary.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

To be fair - Brandon injured his thigh early in the GCS game and didn't come up for the sh!tshow that eventuated at Marvel last Sat afternoon. However, to not recall him for the Tigers game and instead select Sam Rowe is goddamn unfathomable.
If I'm Brandon White, I'm out of the Saints at the end of this year unless there's a different Match Committee in place for 2020 and beyond. Joke.

Am furious about that. Who will blame him when he requests a trade, lands at the hawks for a end of rnd 4 pick and becomes a star running half back with a lethal boot??

In all fairness, I think if Rowe plays it will be as a forward/2nd ruck. Its probably actually Coffield ahead of White. I've no issue with Coffield playing, but White has been kicking the door off the hinges all year at Sandy. He comes in and has a decent game against Gold Coast, in the end he probably won us the game! Unfortunately got a corky and now out!
On top of Brown's non return, if Armitage plays and say Paton doesn't, you'd be forgiven for thinking Richo is sabotaging himself. Perhaps he wants to get out?

In Jack Steele, Nick Coffield, Ben Long, Ben Paton
OUT
Dean Kent (Injured), David Armitage (Omitted), Jack Newnes (Omitted), Jonathon Marsh (Omitted)
Good selections, but would have liked to have seen Langlands included as well.

Agree. Although agree with above posts also that it beggers belief that White not in the team also.
The midfiled failed badly last week. Steely should help. Looking forward to seeing how the midfiled goes this week.
Dan might have second game blues this week. I won't be surprised if his numbers are lower than for his debut.
Jake might suffer from second game blues too but his numbers couldn't go any lower. I will blow stuff up and put manure somewhere in if Jake goes to FF.

And White..
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Langlands should have come in for Ross. I know he got 30 possessions but the disposal ...
I guess with Cho yelling, screaming & crying over being forced by the rest of the selection committee to drop Newnes he only relented if another poster boy of his Long is selselected
