At least in the 80's we had hope with Plugger, Frawley etc.
Fully agree - terrible list, worse midfield.

Newnes most consecutive games in Saints history - the worst consecutive games in history

Positive is Hind

Another positive is that once Richo is sacked, Newnes might FINALLY be dropped
Every week there’s a positive. This year we’ve had Kent, Parker, Hind, Wilkie, Battle......but then they fall away. Why?
Because there is no inspiration, no spark, no confidence, no leadership. I simply cannot accept that all the young fellas on our list are as rubbish as they are playing. If they looked like a confident team, their skills would all of a sudden improve dramatically.
While agree that Richo is not the greatest coach, you have to look at the on-field leadership - or in the Saints case, lack of.

Your senior players are Ross, Geary, Newnes, Savage and a couple more
These players have NEVER been great players, and thus are not great leaders either

Well what a pathetic performance.

The excuse will be the Townsville heat.

If they sack Richo, who will we get as coach?

We have a Fitzroy type of stench about us.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

I believe they would look like totally different players with a leader that inspired and motivated them to be their best. Richardson is about as motivating as soggy toast.

I defended Richo to the hilt in his first four years. I can now see why we were the only club to offer him a job.

He’s still learning the trade and developing. Tough to step into #1 ruck in his circumstances. Has been awesome this year. One of the few good stories.

Ludicrous that they would all play in the same team.

We'd struggle to get a blue ribbon in the 400m at little athletics out of that lot.
Hang on Portosaint, I coach Little Athletics, and I object to you bringing them into it . We don’t just give blue ribbons away at Little Aths . White ones yes, but not blue.

They can kick more goals in one quarter than we can in a whole game!

What an absolute insipid effort.
Our players are so overated its not funny s*** disposal skills etc..
We have sacked coaches recruited poorly time after time.As a long time suffering supporter i am just over it and see no improvement in the near future.
People are crying out to sack the coach if we dont have the cattle what wil that achieve.
No wonder we cannot recruit A grade players who wants to play for St.Kilda.let alone coach us.
Absolute rubbish.

I agree with this...I honestly don't think a different coach will turn a C grade list with C -D grade leaders into a decent team.

Recruiting is the key here..

If Richo had Roo, Joey, Goddard, Fisher, Bakes, Milne etc....he would be winning every week and be lauded as a genius.

Now...bracing myself for the barrage of "It's the coaches fault" abuse...ready

I had to leave at 3/4 time to get to a function. The crowd outside was like at the end of a game. People leaving in their thousands.
This is what will make the board twitchy- the sheer apathy of the supporter base.
Will be an cb interesting week

Yes - this is where I see the coaches and recruiters biggest failing...in the transformation of the list.

...and playing Newnes week in week out should be on Ripley's Believe it or not...just not something the human brain can comprehend whatsoever

The trouble is that when Richo had Roo and Monty on the field he did not have to coach, they did it for him. As soon as they left he was exposed as not being up to the job.

Richo and the club overate our players. Thats why we dont improve our list. Thinking we had a top 4 list last year was ridiculous. A new coach would may not coach a lot better than Richo but they will look at our players differently. Other than, Gresh, Billings, Membery, Marshall and Hannerbury today there was nothing special. Add Steven and Steele and most of the rest are good ordinary players.
